yes it is true because your body needs the nourishment to keep you going and by not eating breakfast your body is craving food/ energy
so by not eating breakfast you are more hungry at lunch/dinner time
and you over eat..to make up for the empty stomach.

No it isnt' true. Breakfast calories are often smaller than lunch calories (meaning you don't eat as much for breakfast as you do for lunch) so you would be actually taking in more calories if you double up lunch or dinner. For example, if you normally have cereal for breakfast, and you have a sandwich, fruit and chips for lunch, to double your lunch would obviously be a LOT more food that what you had for breakfast.
In addition, there is a saying "breakfast is the most important meal of the day". There is a reason for this. Breakfast "turns" your mind on. So that you can think better and more clearly. By depriving yourself of breakfast, you actually make school/work more difficult.
In addition, breakfast jump starts your metabolism, which has been on "sleep mode" since dinner the night before. If you don't eat breakfast your metabolism stays slow throughout the day (grapefruit is shown to be a good metabolism booster so is a great breakfast choice).
Finally, if you don't eat breakfast your body learns to hoard the food/calories/nutrients you took in for dinner because it learns it isnt' going to get more for a LONG time. So those people who skip breakfast have more difficulty losing weight.
All this to say, Don't Skip Breakfast!

I find that it is true. Usually when I skip breakfast I'm really hungry by the time lunch rolls around. I don't overeat at dinner, but lunch (after skipping a meal) is different. I think it's because food energizes you. When you go through a few hours without having given your body the energy it needs you try to make up for it by overdoing it (eating too much) at lunch.

I don't think so, when I DO eat breakfast (rarely) I end up being snacky all day and end up eating twice as much as I normally do! When I don't eat breakfast I am hungry for lunch, eat something small, and then do a normal sized dinner. I've heard eating breakfast is good for the metabolism... but i don't think NOT eating it makes you eat more.

It's not true for me. I rarely eat breakfast, and if I ate double the amount that I eat for lunch and dinner, well, I'd explode. I eat a lot for those meals.
I don't know about other people though.
