why is the rule that boys have to ask girls out but its wrong if its the other way?

There is no rule like that. It may have been a custom long ago but now we are in the millennium. You have every right to ask a boy out. And in I am sure that if you take the matter into your hands and ask a boy out then he will be very grateful for taking all the pressure of him.

Who said that was a rule? I've been asked out by girls WAY more times than I've asked girls out. Are you living in the 50's?

It isn't a rule that guys have to ask girls out, nor is it wrong for a girl to ask a guy out. That whole line of thinking is ingrained in us by our parents/grandparents because that was appropriate in their time. Times have changed! I've asked lots of guys out, and many of them were relieved because it took the pressure off of them. In today's society, there is nothing wrong with you asking a guy out. They won't all say yes, but you'd be surprised how many will!

Men are "programmed" to play the dominant role.
Times are changing, and Im sure that most men nowdays wouldnt mind if the woman made the first move; in fact; I think it would be welcomed, especially if the man was shy or what not,
This is not the rule anymore.
