When in a sermon delivered by Mormon President Brigham Young, in The Tabernacle, Great Salt Lake City, April 9, 1852, he said:
"Now hear it, O inhabitants of the earth, Jew and Gentile, Saint and sinner! When our father Adam came into the garden of Eden, he came into it with a celestial body, and brought Eve, one of his wives, with him. He helped to make and organize this world. He is MICHAEL, the Archangel, the ANCIENT OF DAYS! about whom holy men have written and spoken--HE is our FATHER and our GOD, and the only God with whom WE have to do."

This is true and it is recorded in their Journal of Discourses Vol 1. The Mormons deny this because they don't want to believe that this happened.

It might be a good idea to do a search before you post some questions. This question has been answered before over the past several months. Pres. Spencer W. Kimball pointed out that this particular statement was erroneous - that we have God the Father as our Heavenly Father. I believe Brigham Young meant only that Adam existed in the premortal life and helped make and organize this world. It doesn't matter so much what his official name was, Michael or Adam are also callings as well as names. Instead of dredging up statements that are over 150 years old, it might be a good idea to see what a living prophet says. Spencer W. Kimball died over 20 years ago, so you are already 20 years behind. Have a happy day, and I send you a gummy bear. It seems like you need one.

K.. I answered another of your questions, so I thought I would take a "stab" at this one too. This part of the talk was taken totally out of context. The whole talk needs to be read so you can understand what he was meaning. Yes, Adam was called Michael before he was a man. He helped God and Christ form the earth. Adam only had one wife, EVE. He is our father, in the sense that he was the first man, in so being, he is the father of all mankind. He was the first man, the first person alive. As far as the last part of the statement, that was taken out of context and I won't try to dignify it with an answer. Sorry, but you spreading all these falsehoods and taking stuff out of context has started to wear on me. Please do better research before you post questions like this, or ask someone in the church who can answer them, like a bishop, or someone who has had years of study on the matter. The talk was taken from discourses I bet. The church endorsed the writing and compilation of these works, but put a disclaimer about the fact that they can't prove every word to be correct, as they were spoken. They were taken in shorthand, so some of the statements could have been changed a little, or misunderstood. Maybe you should take that into consideration before you post your next question using something that isn't considered doctrine.

youthful gave a sermon wherein some misinterpreted that and hundreds wherein there develop into no misinterpretation. announcing that youthful taught that theory is ridiculous. there have been some in a congregation that have been somewhat sluggish to choose who he develop into talking approximately while he might say "father" as he called Adam "father Adam" and God "Father"; yet misinterpretations via others does not propose he taught nor believed that. in this time he created the fashionable temple ceremony finished with the tale of Adam and Eve in his day being performed out; of course Adam isn't God because of the fact nearly all of the verbal substitute occurs between the two. If youthful particularly taught that then we'd all be attentive to approximately it; yet he in no way suggested it. He develop into in command of giving a verbal substitute wherein some neglected his factor and misinterpreted it, yet no longer coaching any doctrine different than what all of us have self belief at present.

odd way to look at it i am sure but the idea of michael being adam doesnt sound right and the ancient of days is a angel named daniel which i know personaly and have known him a while now. the other thing is that i heard from a elder named gabriella was that adam was jehovah in the garden of eden so there are so many stories out there today.
on another note sorry to hear that you get hate hate mail from so called christians of other sects but they are all christian even if we ignore the simple fact that they are still christian none the less.

That was just a man speaking his thoughts, but it certain isn't and wasn't the doctrine of the Mormon faith. We do believe Adam is the father of mankind, which makes sense, and we also believe he had a role in the creation of the world, that Adam is Michael. We believe that he was obedient and received all the blessings of god, which would be perfection and godliness. He is not "God" the Father and is not equal to Him. That is what Mormons believe.

Isn't it true you once stated you believe every single thing in the Book of Mormon, are really a member and believe in every principle of the gospel?
Oh, no, I can't provide any document of you saying that...but... that's what someone told me...so...I just believed them....
Adam IS our father! He was the first man on earth - where do you think you came from??? He is our father in that sense.
It is interesting to me how certain people have nothing better to do with their time but spread lies, falsehoods, misconceptions and hate. Do these hate-mongers even realize they are doing Satan's work for him? How sad.

I hear so many things about what Mormons believe, When i ask where they got the information, it's always the same answer. My minister told me. What you are passing here does not exist. Show it from sources other than anti-Mormon groups.
I have seen this claim before. It is printed in anti literature and does not really exist. Before you believe everything you see, do some research on your own. Don't take the word of Mormon haters who hate Mormons because they are losings members to the LDS Church.
