You need to contact the country (try the embassy- they could direct you to whom you must speak with) at which you are planning to visit and find out their quarantine rules, etc.

You also should check with your vet so he/she can research where you're going and inoculate against anything your vet may feel is necessary in addition to whatever is required.

Try checking with the country's deparment of immigration and naturalization.

Some countries have a quaranty time period wherein the pet must be held at an authorized location by officials.

Check with vet re: innoculation requirements. Airlines may have regulations in place as well re: innoculations.

UK is strict about their quarantine due to their animal population being free of rabbies infection.

Took our cat from the east coast to the west coast of Canada. We checked with both airline and vet (no country entry problems). We bought a pet carrier according to the airline's specifications. Doctor made sure he was in good travelling shape. Pet does not travel beside you on the aircraft. Provide him with a little clean soft towel.

The airline staff were very kind and gentle with him and he enjoyed his flight although he did not wish to travel by air again.

Good luck.

You need to get an international travel certificate from your vet. Trust me, I used to work for one and fill them out all of the time. The airlines require it. The cat needs a full exam and needs to be current on vaccines. Check with the other country to see what is required by them. Ask the vet about mild sedetives for kitty too. possibly Benedryl. Good luck with the move!

Simply check with the embassy of the country to which you are going. Sometimes airline personnel are also knowledgeable about what is necesssary to take an animal into a foreign country.
I am sure the people who appointed your father to his position would also have the information for you.

The biggest problem yopu may have is if the cat is on the No Fly list, that the government created. Hopefully, your cat does not have an Arabic name, or is a Moslem.
