Yes it is still necessary at this point...Iraq would completely collapse into anarchy if the US pulls out right now and that would destabilize the whole region...It also puts more fundamentalists in power in the region

He has us still at war because of misinformation, poor intelligence, and bad advice from a bunch of Dipstick's that should be up on charges for their mishandling of our Nation's affairs. Unfortunately, now its very necessary to fight (we started it!). We can not withdraw without putting the Iraqi's in a position to sink or swim. The problem is no matter what we do, this war between the sectarians factions has been fought for centuries and will continue. There is a Messianic aspect to their in-fighting. The Shiite and the Sunni will fight no matter what. Its inherent in their belief systems. So we must stabilize their Democratically elected government, negotiate with those we distrust and pack up--bring the Boy's home!

Yes it is. This war is a lot more important than people realize. If we were to lose Iran would had control of the entire region and we could be looking at World War III.

Only if you value your freedom. If you don't value your freedom, then I suppose the answer is no, it is not necessary.

Freedom is really overrated anyway. I mean who wants to live in a society, when you can have any job you want? Who wants to live in a place where you can be any religion you want to be or none at all? Why would anyone want to live in a place where women are respected and treated as equals? Oh yeah and Who would want to live in a place where you can go online and bad mouth the leader of your counrty and not have the military torture your family while you watch helpless to do anything about it, and then they kill you. Yeah Freedom is overrated.

do you think Bush started this war?

Read the 9/11 commission report

Then think...if only one side wages war, is it really a war? What happens?

If you want to let terrorists have free run of everything, then no, the war isn't necessary. I certainly hope that this isn't the case. I value my freedom very highly.

I believe what happened is we went to Iraq to get rid of WMD and Saddam there were no WMD Saddam was hung recently. Mission accomplished. The idea that we are stabilizing that country is ludicrous. 34k civilians dead last yr thats a civil war and we are there dying and babysitting a war. I think its insane to believe that once we leave in 1 yr 5 yrs etc that it wont completely fall apart.

Why are countries like somalia so screwed up?? There are too many countries pouring resources into different factions to try and gain control of the resources they have. It stays a civil war and Iraq is no different.

Yes unless you want to see a repeat of 9/11.
Yes because the USA never "half asses" or leaves a job unfinished.
Yes because we are helping and training the Iraqi people to be able to continue to progress with the help of a government so they can be able to grow as a country once our troops pull out.

Many people believe that if the American Forces in Iraq make a withdrawl, we will be stuck in the same bind as in vietnam.

If America left now, it is a major concern that the guerilla operations would band together and subjegate Iraq to yet another totalitarianistic rule.
