I'm making a few Stomboli for my Superbowl party and would like to use roasted red bellpeppers in one. I plan on using Provalone cheese because I make some killer grilled-cheese sandwiches using the cheese/pepper combo. I feel like I need a meat in it though.

Any suggestions for a meat??

How about getting some lamb (gyro meat). Might be good with some cucumber sauce!

red pepper is a flavor that is not hard to compliment- use beef or chicken

if you are looking to put it in the sandwiches though- i would use a fire- roasted chicken from the deli (perhaps a buffalo flavored)

1/2 lb turkey, thinly sliced
1/2 lb hard salami, thinly sliced
1/2 lb deli ham, thinly sliced

Would be enough for 16 servings. It would taste awesome.

Genoa salami or pepperoni would be a good compliment.
