I think it depends on how long you have been dating and how serious your relationship is. I have been with my boyfriend a year, so it is just assumed that we will spend weekends together. If he is going to do something with a friend, he will usually tell me a few days ahead of time so I can make plans. Most weekends, we just play it by ear and see what comes up. If he gets invited somewhere last minute, I don't stress if he wants to go, as long as we haven't made plans to do something else.
If you are in a fairly new relationship, I think it is reasonable to expect for him to ask you out by Thursday. If he doesn't, and you have the opportunity to make other plans, do it. If you don't make any plans and he calls you on Friday night, what do you have to lose by going out with him if you really like him?

It is possible he has plans. It is also possible that he simply has no idea what to do this weekend. Some people don't plan past the next five minutes. Talk to him and be sure. Assuming anything can and mostly will backfire on you in every circumstance.

Don't assume.. just ask him and if he has, it's cool.. you make some plans too and try again for next weekend.

I don't know maybe he has to work the weekend. Why not ask if he would like to do something and see what he says.

Why dont you sk him to make plans? Thats the best way to find out if he has plans.

don't wait around for him...if something comes up, then do that. or you could always call him up first and ask him if he wants to do something for the weekend

don't assume anything! who knows why he hasn't asked you out. it could be that he doesn't want to ask you out, or it could just mean that he's busy!
