I have been watching my little cousion for 5 dollars a day and so far I have 100 dollars. 70 is going on a concert and my mom is supposed to give me 40 to spend [my 15th birthday was on the 23rd and she didn't get me anything.] Well, I come home today and I tell her to take 10 dollars out of my money because I owe my grandma 10 dollars for pop. She starts screaming at me and telling me"DONT ******* PAY 5 DOLLARS FOR A 12 PACK" Just screaming at me and saying "NO WONDER WHY WE CAN'T GET A NEW HOUSE" What did i do wrong??? Its my money that I earned, right?

It sounds like she is stressed about money and took it out on you. Yes, it is your money, and she shouldn't blame you for not being able to get a house. Last time I checked, 10 dollars did not qualify as a house payment. Not to mention you're 15 and not responsible for providing a house for the family.

Well, it's most likely not you. It's your mom that is just taking out her anger on you. $10 is a lot to pay for pop, but my guess is that she isn't angry about that. There is probably something deeper going on and she just doesn't know how to deal with it properly. Perhaps she feels badly for not getting you a birthday gift.

Way to go for saving $100! That's great!

Does your mom explode like that often? I'm guessing not.

I'd guess that something really bothered her today, and she took it out on you. Wait a while and say something like: "Is everything OK? You seemed really upset earlier when..."

I don't know how well you and your mom communicate, so take all this advice with a grain of salt.

If she can't come up with $40, there's no way she's going to come up with money to buy a house. It's her responsibility to buy herself one, not yours.
