The benefit of the child tax credit, a tax credit of $1,000, is the same for almost everyone. Once you earn a certain amount of money, the credit begins to be phased out.
The benefit of the dependent exemption is a reduction in your income subject to tax of $3,300. The actual reduction in tax depends on your tax bracket. Also, once your income exceeds a certain amount, the exemptions are phased out as well.

In the US, there is a child tax credit good for $1,000 dollars. I don't know if this is refundable or not. A child must be 17 on 31 Dec 2006.

yes for each child yes...Maybe will look like you don't get the same like another person that have the same amount of kids all have to do on the income of the person...Like one year I will have one amount and the the next year not all depends how much I make...And for my kids will be the same...Some times I have to pay because I make way too much so I don't even get the childs one because it doesn't apply all have to do with the amount that person make....
