It is true that the blood of the Son of God was shed for sins through the fall and those committed by men, yet men can commit sins which it can never remit. As it was in ancient days, so it is in our day; and though the principles are taught publicly from this stand, still the people do not understand them; yet the law is precisely the same. There are sins that can be atoned for by an offering upon an altar, as in ancient days; and there are sins that the blood of a lamb, of a calf, or of turtle doves, cannot remit, but they must be atoned for by the blood of the man. That is the reason why men talk to you as they do from this stand; they understand the doctrine and throw out a few words about it. You have been taught that doctrine, but you do not understand it. - Brigham Young JoD 4:53-54

Contrary the Bible says:
1 John 1:9
If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

The LDS church was lead by a murdering cultist.. This is their line of authority... Jim

Because Brigham Young was not a Christian.
LDS denies the Trinity Doctrine of Christianity.
LDS denies the Deity of Jesus Christ.
LDS denies the work of atoning for sin through a blood sacrifice, as laid out in the Old Testament and fulfilled in the New Testament of the Bible.

Yet they use the name of Jesus Christ in the official name of their church, The Church Of Jesus Christ Latter Day Saints.
But they do manage to follow the teachings of Joseph Smith, a notorious town drunk in his home town.

Because it wasn't Christ's death that saved us. It was his willingness, as a perfect man, to take upon himself all of the sins of the all the people to ever populate the world. That He died is true but His death is not what saves us as His death is not the atonement. It was primarily what He did in the Garden of Gethsemane the night before when the pains of the world became so great the he began to sweat great drops of blood. It is that pain and agony that caused Him to cry out to God that if it were possible to let that cup pass. But Christ loves us all so much that he said, "Not my will, but thine be done."

Because the idea that a god would get off on bloodshed IS foolish.

If he did say it, that may be one of the few things I agree with old BY about.

I'm pretty sure he didn't. But if he did, do I need to remind you that about 67% of the population of earth is NOT Christian. They all think it's a bunch of crap too.

Even among Christians you will be hard pressed to find two of them that agree with each other all the time on matters of the bible.

He didn't.

Why are you making up stuff about Brigham Young? Is that what Jesus would do?
