With out making it to crunchy. I have thick black shoulder length hair. A friend of mine suggested I put mousse or gel in my hair before I go to sleep. Put it in a messy bun. And just shake my hair out in the morning. I havent tried this yet...I need suggestion on what products work well with this type of method. Something that doesn't make mt hair feel stiff. Thanks.

aussie sells a spray called "Sprunch"
i dont really care for it, because it makes it kind of crunchy, but it's not flakey. but the smell is pretty strong and you will smell it all day.

On wet hands, Apply an almond size amount of PPS Sculp It, rub your hands together and work through the hair. Using a scrunching technique.

I think you will find if you put gel on your hair at night, then a messy bun, you will have a hard time getting it out in the morning. And brushing it will just make it frizz.

Products don't actually work that well, i have poker straight hair and i have this problem- i find it easier to wet-set it. Just dampen your hair, put in roller or scrunch it into bunny ears and leave it to dry, it will take 10 mins-30 mins depending on the lenght and thickness of your hair. Then add some hairspray if you think you'll need it, and voila. :)

if you want waves you should take a shower then after letting your hair dry to get all the moisture out you should then braid a french braid in your hair and sleep on it. when you wake up you take out the braid and have waves. depending on the size of the waves brush your hair if it works too well.

Note- the ends of your hair will not be wavy, try to braid as far as you can go.

GOOD LUCK!!!

After you get out of the shower, braid your hair - in sections of however big you want the scrunches to be - while its still wet. Go to bed with it wet and take out the braids in the morning and just use a little gel to scrunch.
