i have dandruff really bad, i've had it since i was a kid, it's gets even worse in the winter time. i've tried all the shampoos, and nothing seems to work. my head gets really itchy, and it's really embarassing. when i pull my hair back in a pony tail, you can see the dry skin through my hair on the sides of my head above my ears. anytime i go to play with my hair alittle bit, if i'm wearing black it's all over my shoulders. my hair is really thick, so i tried washing it everyother day instead of everyday, because i thought i may have been drying it out too much, but it is still really flaky. if i were to shave my head i know it would look like one big giant dry flake of skin. how can i get rid of this, or somehow make it alittle better?

I even get dry skin in my eyelashes, you can actually see little flakes, it's really annoying. I'm always trying to get it out, and when i pull i end up pulling a bunch of eyelashes out with it.

Best bet is to go see a dermatologist. Tar shampoos are usually best for dry scalp, but it doesn't work for everyone. Some people like myself, have extremely sensitive scalps, most shampoos have too many chemicals that irritate, best thing is simple baby shampoo. Try that for awhile and try to rub a bit of lotion onto your head before bed. Don't use any hair products(gel, hair spray, dyes, etc) until you're fully recovered. Once your scalp no longer flakes, switch to kids shampoo and a mild conditioner, it usually takes time to become normal.

Also consider getting an allergy test and drink plenty of water. In the meantime, try wearing cute hats and above all, do not scratch! Best luck to you.

bypass to a sort of mall shops like supercuts or grasp cuts ofr something, then only get your ends trimmed on a particularly prevalent foundation. Like one each and each month or so. attempt Paul Mitchell Tea Tree Shampoo & conditioner. bypass to ULTA, if there is one on your sity, because of the fact they might have some combination bargains. Sally's sells the conventional formula, in spite of the undeniable fact that that's no longer quite as valuable because of the fact the unique, to me. those issues works on all hair varieties, and you will see a distinction after drying your hair. stable success. HEADS UP-- stay removed from products with a severe alcohol content cloth, this could dry out your hair and scalp, ensuing in breakage and dandruff.

I have had a similar problem for years. Honestly, I'm not trying to give you a wise-guy answer, but the only thing that has totally eliminated it is keeping my head shaved, but the only reason I do that is that is because my hair is so thin on top.

That said, when I do decide to keep a little hair, I find that paying careful attention to my diet helps the problem; plenty of fruits and veggies, drinking only water (and lots of it), and going easy on the pizza and burgers. This also helps my mild rosacea and keeps me trim. Worth a try, I would say...

I had it really bad when i was younger.
I used selsun blue shampoo daily. You have to scrub it in at the scalp, and make sure to wrinse it out very thoroughly. I also applied tea tree oil to my scalp afterwards. It helps to stop the skin from flaking.
