Infanticide literally means killing babies and it refers to the practices of leaving unwanted babies in trash cans or the forest etc. Stem cell research means the use of human stem cells for research. Human stem cells are what we call cells before they become differentiated into a skin cell or a muscle cell etc. They are the cells that make up an embyo in the first part of development and some of them are sloughed off during the dividing and development process. The stem cells used for research come from umbilical cord blood. It would be possible to use stem cells from aborted embryos or to start the dividing process of a fertilized egg (like for invitro-fertilization) and then use the stem cells for research. These stem cells have the ability to be ANY human cells, with more research they can be used to grow organs for people who need transplants or to help regenerate brain/nerve tissue (which will not regenerate by itself) in people with Parkinson's or Multiple Sclerosis. These cells have the ability help us find a way to kill off and stop viruses like HIV, herpes, and many others that are right now incurable. These cells also hold the key to understanding what chemical factors cause cells to divide and how they know what to become which can help us cure cancer.
Stem cells are the best hope for curing disease and moving health care forward. So what's the issue, the issue becomes that some people think it would be wrong for researcers to use stem cells from aborted ambryos that would be discarded. The opponents think that this will make people want to abort embryos more often (which is just silly). Many opponents think that it is wrong to start fertilized eggs dividing in order to get stem cells.
The researchers can do some research on the donated stem cells from umbilical cord blood but they need to be able to control some factors and those stem cells are fairly old. Researchers need to be able to have several large groups of genetically identical stem cells so that they can try different things and compare the results better.
As for the speech, what you need to do is pick your topic, let's say abortion then decide what point of view your speech will have. Let's say, Abortion kills living human babies. Make your point of view a strong statement and that becomes a good sentence to start your speech. Then simply state your evidence and the ideas that support that in short simple sentences and that is your introduction.

Abortion is killing the fetus (developing child) by removing it from the womb before it comes to term, Infanticide is killing a baby after it is born, and stem cells are specialized cells that can remain as they are but have the ability to form other specialized cells (muscle, brain, etc.) within the body.
Honestly, if you are going to do a speech, get the information you need to do it. All the information you need is on the Internet and is not hard to find at all. You can even find stuff on how to prepare a speech. Here's your first help: http://stemcells.nih.gov/info/basics
BTW if you think of this assignment as "speech" you'll get all nervous...but if you think of it as telling somebody else what you think about something and why you think that way, you'll be more relaxed preparing it. Basically you want to start by mentioning what it is you want to talk about, the controversies, and then your position (and why you believe what you do and not what the other side believes)....make a number of arguments supporting your position and against the other (proceed logically and don't ramble back and forth) and then tie it all together with a conclusion that backs your initial argument. Hope this helps.

It is interesting that you have mentioned both abortion and infanticide. Infanticide has always been connected with killing of babies that have been already born, but I can honestly say that Abortion should fit into the infanticide category as well. A baby is a baby regardless at what stage of development. In stem cell research they use the cells of a fetus that was once alive. My thought you should include all three in your speech, do to the fact they are very connected. A good "argument" for pro-life for all of these is this- abortion- kills developing baby. The pro-choice stand ways that they really arent babies, just cells. Well if they are just cells and not living, how can they use stem cells to help the living? If you have to chose between the three, I would probably do abortion because there are many more people having abortions then anything else right now. 4,000-5,000 a day in America. Abortion is legalized murder.

Well, do you know what pro-life means? That means you are on the side of the protecting the life of the unborn. So therefore, abortion, which is terminating a life, would not be the choice you would advocate. Infanticide refers to killing a child that has already been born. Either the child is killed because of being born with birth defects or some terrible disease or the mother kills the child due to her own mental illness or insanity. Certain cultures in ancient times, would kill all children that were not healthy, and others, would kill girls as opposed to boys. A kind of imposed "natural selection". In Darwin's theory of evolution, he implies that any given species surviving would be because of the strength of the characteristics of that species. The survival of the fittest law! Infanticide would be humans exerting control over that survival rather than letting nature taking its course. There are now laws against infanticide in most countries. And stem cell research is using genetic material from human embryos for medical research to cure diseases, etc. But stem cell tampering with embryos kills the embryo, so now laws are also in place governing the where and when of researchers being able to do these procedures. They want them only to use damaged embryos and not to use healthy ones, for obvious reasons. So you'll have to choose what to speak about, but go with what interests you the most. You can always get info by any search engine on the web. Good luck! Just type in a few key words of what you want explained and hit the Search button!

I got diagnosed with herpes simplex virus (type 2) about four yrs ago, when I was still attending college and had a stupid one-night stand. I know lots of people say this, but I swear I had never done that sort of thing before. I just made a mistake that one time and all of a sudden it seemed like I was going to have to live with the implications for my entire life. The worst part was feeling I could never date other men again. After all, who wants to go out with a girl who has sores round her "you know what" area? But since a friend shared this movie https://tr.im/qmad3 everything got better.
Not only was I able to eradicate all traces of the herpes simplex virus from my system in less than three weeks, but I was also able to begin dating again. I even met the guy of my dreams and I'm so fortunate to write that just a week ago, in front of everybody in a busy restaurant, he got down on one knee and proposed to me! This program provided the chance to be happy and experience true love again. Now I want to help others too by sharing this story.

Jacqelyn first research the 3 and decide what you believe is most interesting to you i have found if you are interested in one particular thing your work will be alot easier,i suggest then get on the computer and dig for answers to your own questions usually most people will feel the same you may have different opinions but that is why you do the speech to begin with

Infanticide is the killing of a LIVE child by one of its parents, usually the father (only because it is called matricide when a mother does it...) Im not really sure how infanticide related to pro-life arguments....

Just say pro-choice is the American way and no one can tell a mother how to manage her pregnancy. The end.
