The Bible's accuracy and reliability have been proved and verified over and over again by archaeological finds produced by both believing and no believing scholars and scientists. This included verification for numerous customs, places, names, and events mentioned in the Bible.
One among many examples is the fact that for many years the existence of the Hittites (a powerful people who lived during the time of Abraham) was questioned because no archaeological digs had uncovered anything about them. Critics claimed the Hittites were pure myth. But today the critics are silenced. Abundant archaeological evidence for the existence of the Hittites during the time of Abraham has been uncovered.
Bible scholar Donald J. Wiseman notes, "The geography of Bible lands and visible remains of antiquity were gradually recorded until today more than 23,000 sites within this region and dating to Old Testament times, in their broadest sense, have been located." Nelson Glueck, a specialist in ancient literature, did an exhaustive study and concluded: "It can be stated categorically that no archaeological discovery has ever controverter a biblical reference." Well-known scholar William F. Albright, following a comprehensive studies, wrote: "Discovery after discovery has established the accuracy of innumerable details, and has brought increased recognition of the value of the Bible as a source of History."
There are more than 24,000 partial and complete manuscript copies of the New Testament. These manuscript copies are very ancient and they are available for inspection NOW. there are also some 86,000 quotations from the early church fathers and several thousand lectionaries (church-service books containing Scripture quotations used in the early centuries of Christianity). In fact, there are enough quotations from the early church fathers that even if we did not have a single copy of the Bible, scholars could still reconstruct all but 11 verses of the entire New Testament from material written within 150 to 200 years from the time of Christ. Bottom line: The New Testament has an overwhelming amount of evidence supporting its reliability.

I am a Christian, and believe that the bible is one hundred percent right, but through time we may have misunderstandings of what its trying to say. For instance, God says in the bible that he won't let anyone on earth ever live to be over the age of 120 ever again, but there was someone alive during ww2, that lived to be 122. I don't know what god was trying to say back then, maybe their recordings of a year were different than ours, but it would appear the bible is wrong in that instance. Once again, I do not be live the bible is wrong about anything, but people often misinterpret the bible, and there are many different interpretations all just as viable as another.

genuinely, you're able to desire to alter your wording only slightly: Hebrew Bible Roman Catholic Bible Protestant Bible The Jewish pupils finished the version of the Hebrew Bible in touching directly to the third century. That textual content cloth is blanketed in the two the RC and Prot. Bible. The order of the books is diverse, because of the fact of underlying assumptions. The Christian Bible (the recent testomony) wasn't quite nailed down till almost the 10th century or so. After that, it grew to become into locked in. This grew to become into executed in a sequence of Church Councils. this text is the comparable in the two the RC and Prot. Bible, and the previous testomony is quite a lot the comparable in the two of those Bibles, different than that the order may be slightly diverse. the only distinction between the RC and Prot. Bibles is the presence of the Apocrypha -- a number of books that have been unknown in Hebrew, yet have been blanketed robotically in Greek language translations of the previous testomony that have been in regularly occurring use around the time of the early Church. That Greek translation of the previous testomony (stated as the Septuagint) grew to become into so regularly occurring (maximum Jews did no longer at that factor bear in ideas a thank you to chat or examine Hebrew anymore) that whenever you detect the previous testomony quoted in the recent testomony, that's continually the Septuagint textual content cloth they're quoting.

Ehh, you really can't PROVE inaccuracy in the Bible, just like you can't PROVE inaccuracy of many other religions. As for historical data, you really can't PROVE that a person or group of people didn't exist. The idea should remain nuetral, until proven as real.
As for the miracles, you really cannot PROVE or DISPROVE that they happened. You can look historically, and prove that an event took place, but you can't prove that it was of divine origin.
Case in point: There is no doubt that a person named Jesus walked around in the roman empire many years ago. However, you really can't prove nor disprove he brought Lazarus back to life.

Did you get permission from your father or husband to ask this question? if you didn't it might be time for a stoning!
The bible gets it wrong all the time morally (see my sarcastic question above) and Historically just because you find a archeological site mentioned in the bible it doesn't make the story true (i could write a story about my home town with people i know in it but the events of that story could be fictional)

The Bible is not an ordinary book. It is the Word of God. The Word is the Power of God. The Bible is the story of Christ saving us. The Bible is God's Holy Scriptures. The Bible is Truth. There are no errors. The Bible is not for God... it is for us. When you read the Bible, pray for understanding. The Holy Spirit gives Divine revelation when read with a humble heart. It is medicine for our bodies, understanding for our hearts, and encourangement for our souls. Read the Bible for your spirit to soar and it will. Be blessed! Janie

The Bible is the Canon. The holy word inspired by God. God is perfect. So therefore the Bible is perfect. Yes, you may say that the Bible was written by Paul, John, David...etc, but it wasn't their words but God's. God inspired them to write those words. The Bible is Perfect. nothing is wrong about it.

There are some seemingly contradictions in the bible but some if not all can be explained. For instance in the 2 geneologies of Jesus, the one in Matthew and the one in Luke, the lineages differ. One scholar offered that that's because one writer traced his lineage through Joseph and the other through Mary. God's word is always true. Don't look for discrepencies. Read it to learn and feed your spirit.

If any portion of the Bible is incorrect then none of it is credible, for the simple reason that no one is qualified to discern which parts are truth and which are not. It boils down to faith in God.
