Do you really think that if it came to armed conflict between the US and Iran.. That Iran had a chance of beating the Americans? Do they think they could Beat the US?

John B.. not even 1/10th of our military strength is being utilized in Iraq. Not enough troops? where on earth did you get that idea? you do know that we still have 100's of thousands of troops in other bases around the world right?

Iran would not have a chance. If Iran started a fight we would go after them with air strikes and naval action.

If Iran wanted to try to come after us on the ground - we would wait until their army was on the Iraq side of the mountains then bomb the mountain passes. Then force them to come after us - with no air cover - on a battlefield of our choosing. It would be a slaughter.

BTW - having Iran try to invade Iraq would rally all of the Iraqi people together.

If the U.S. were to use all their force Iran wouldn't stand a chance..at the same time remember Iran has signed a pact with China & Russia which means attacking Iran would be considered an attack on the other two countries.

If these two countries stayed out then yes, the U.S. would defeat them. I really doubt the U.S. could succeed without dire consequences though to it's troops, U.S. soil, an economy in shambles partly due to China holding a considerable chunk of the U.S. close to 8 trillion debt.

Worst case scenario & most likely to take place if the U.S. did strike would be the real World War III, not the one that's been mentioned already going on by the media.

First of all, It would be folly to wage a ground war on Iran. See Iran/Iraq war and learn Iranian tactics. We would wage an air war and cripple them both militarily and most importantly economically.
If however we conductucted a ground war we could not win the people over because the children are being taught to blow themselves up in cartooons. We watch Bugs Bunny they watch Jihadists.
Eventually, Israel will initiate to stop iran fom producing nuclear weapons just as they did for iraq and they would be justified. WWIII has started nobody wants to aknowledge it though just as they didn't want to acknowlegde Hitler was building for a war

Iran beating the USA?...not a chance, hell, they couldn't even beat Iraq (the 4th largest military in the world at the time) in 8 years and it took the US like what? ....3 days to do that.

I would prefer that we take the leash of Israel and let them deal with it. Let the USA run interferrence at the UN while Israel blows the living hell out of Iran.

I don't think they could beat us. They may have a huge military, but that is just targets for our aircraft. We would bomb their mighty military into scraps and then the Army/Marines would serve as mop up.

However, they can't win if we turn them into a self lighting glass parking lot.

ya they do. What will happen is sorta like what happened to Rome, UK, Spain, Greece, Persia Empires. We will spread our troops to short. We have far to little troops to go to war with a country that has nuclear power. Our troops are focused in Iraq and Afghanastan right now and maybe even soon will have a problem with N. Korea. And other random places that we are "needed". So if we go they will need a draft and many kids of my generation will reject it and the same that happened w. Vietnam will happen now but 10 times worse. Bc kids have more power than they did then. I dont think our troops if we drafted would have enough training to go to war with a country that has those strong weapons. So ya I think they could beat us. We have become to full of ourselves like England, Spain, Mexico, The Union, and France in their hey days of being rich and powerful. We need to focus on the problems with the government that are here and improve economic and social problems in the US rather than go to war with Iran. THeir people are trained to hate us just like many of the Afghans and Iraqis so it would be one of the worse decisions of history and our government will regret later i predict if we do go to war with Iran.

Iran is strong enough to wipe America and Israel off the face of this Earth.

A very bad idea to invade Iran. It's much bigger then Iraq and the Persians are just as vicious as the Iraqis. They're not Arabs and speak Farci rather then Arabic, so another barrier to communications with their "hearts and minds."

Dang it, I just don't trust Dubya to keep America out of another conflict. So glad I didn't vote for him!

It would be distasterous to go to war with Iran

Our founding fathers told us to stay out of other's nation's quarrels and to stay out of debt, yet, we go into debt to play World Cop-tm

The middle east should be little more to us than a gas station in a bad neighborhood. They have to sell it, we have to buy it - 2 way addiction

Yet, starting with the displacement of Palestinians, and our support of the Shaw, we've made the whole region resent our influence

The Chinese are happy to lend us the money to do it, they're handing us the rope that will go around our necks

by the looks of the ratings, seems our questioner is an 'Israel First' warmonger
