I agree with you. I was pondering the same thing.

There's some truth to what you say; there are many people in this world who consider the topic of sex to be off-limits for casual conversation; a private thing, as you say.

On the other hand, there are lots of people in this world who are comfortable with their own sexuality, and discussing it in public; it's not an off-limits topic for them.

So, that's the way the world is. Different people from different backgrounds (or the same background) have different attitudes about what's appropriate to discuss in public, and what isn't. Race, religion, politics, sex, finances, feelings -- everyone's a bit different, and there are bound to be people who fall at the other end of the spectrum from yourself.

The good news is, you can turn off the television; don't watch the Tyra Banks show, or any other talk show. You can lead a full, fulfilling life without watching talk shows, or any television at all. You can also avoid people who discuss such things, and hanging out in groups for whom discussion of those subjects is considered acceptable.

Still, take a moment to think about your own response: "nasty sex lives" and "A PRIVATE THING" suggests that you've been raised to think of sex in this fashion -- take a bit of time to consider the possibility that sex is a normal, natural part of life, and may not be the nasty, private thing you think it is. I'm not trying to change your mind -- rather, I'd hate to think you never even considered the possibility before you rejected it out of hand.

Haven't YOU heard that the world is NOT rated PG-13 Anymore!!!...LOL Just Kidding, Girl.

I feel Ya!...It is so sad that even NEWBORNS come out thinking "Vagina..." lol,..I mean ten year olds are already "Dating" and we see twelve year old mothers around the world..it is getting by far worser and worser...it hurts but it's the truth, and as much as we might try to change it, the majority won't allow it...so how can a minority speak up, when the majority seems to have the only say on this?? =(

Anyways, On the other hand, it is good to be open about sex, comfortable with your sexuality, and brave enough to admit that you need protection NO MATTER WHAT!!

sincerely,

Shock gets people attention, but each time you shock someone it take more to do it next time. With TV wanting to get peoples attention all the time so they can get more people to watch and make more money from ads they have shocked us a lot. This has desensitized the country as a whole and corrupted the general morals. So basically we sold ourselves out.

Pretty much the only thing left that is generally accepted as wrong now days it to tell someone else that what they are doing or how they are living there life is wrong.

Because it's the norm now (or so they say) according to society. Society has sexy car ads, sexy talk shows, sexy Tv dramas and that's what people watch, so that's what producers make more of. It's sad, but true. Everything has turned into sex related issues.

Because people these days are more uninhibited, also more perverted....this is men and women both. The decline of morality I feel also played a part it this. I'm waiting for actual pornography to be shown on regular TV. It's a shame. Best of luck to you.

Sex is not nasty. Its a beatiful thing and a natural thing. People are most interested in sex thats why it's talked about so much. Those people who feel free to talk about their sex life so openly dont really respect themselves or their partner.

Because the rest of us aren't getting any, so we live through them.
I have never seen or heard anyone personally because i don't really watch TV and only listen to sports radio.
But I do know what you are taking about.

I wonder how the victims of child abuse, rape and those with sexually transmitted diseases that are slowly killing them feel about Sex! Sex! Sex?

I have managed to live nearly all my life without sex so far. So please give it a rest sex-pushers!
