I would say somewhere around 10...not that 10 is my number (not that there's anything wrong with 10, my number is more than 10, but you asked on average...I'm not average)...I'm just saying that there are a lot more people to choose from in the world these days and so sticking to the first or second you're with just seems silly so someone might try out a few more just to see how it goes...

That would depend on the person, and the type of life style that they live. Some would have more than others. I would say at least 5 during my life time. Im 50 and have been married for 28 years to the same person.

According to recent surveys I've read about, American males claim about 8 partners whereas women claim about 4. People don't necessarily tell the truth in these surveys, so the real answer is probably unknown.

My counsellor told me it was 4 before you found the right person, but then in a mens magazine I read it was 10.
I'm on my 4th but she was also my number 2 so hopefully it still counts.
