How dare you insult the only true religion. Only Christians will go to heaven, all atheists, pagans, muslims, islamist, and non christians will go to hell if they do not accept Christ.

I for one do NOT insult christians. I am not one, but i am an Eclectic Wiccan, of the old ways. I respect what you believe in as you personally will do others. But there are some christians, catholics, evangelists etc that do knock Witchcraft/Paganism and all the other paths concerned, It is through pure lack of understanding why people do this, and i would say the same when people mock christianity. If people left each to thier own, stop preaching that theirs is the only true God, stop saying that everyone will go to hell if they dont accept Christ, stop trying to force their religion on everyone, and give some respect and understanding to others religions, then there would be much less mockery and stupidity about it all. If someone wishes to make a joke about Witches or Pagans, then thats absolutely fine with me. I don't get offended, because i can laugh at myself. I answered a similar question to this last week, but it was from a Wiccan wanting to know why Christians hate us so much!.the response was great, and most who answered don't hate Wiccans......so, and i probably speak for many of us..we don't disrespect you at all. We all have our different points, and could have healthy debates about subjects....but that doesn't mean we disrespect you. Try not to let it bother you hun, hold your head up and don't be ashamed of what you believe in. You are the person that you are, wether you are religious or not.
Blessings

I disagree.
I see many, many posts insulting or demeaning atheists, Pagans and others, form Christians.
I see many prosletyzing posts from Christians, which by their nature insult others. Things like "Do you know you're going to hell if you don't accept Christ" are quite objectionable. I presume that you wouldn't think so, but something like "How can you believe in a book that contains so many foolish concepts" is quite equivalent.
When someone asks the "do you know" sort of question, they are insulting everyone who doesn't believe. WE KNOW what you think. We've heard it THOUSANDS OF TIMES! It's quite irritating actually.
Posts about Wiccans worshiping the devil are quite common too, and I'm sort of sick of those as well.
Most of it is foolishness and ignorance. Most Christians haven't any idea about what atheists or Pagans or agnostics believe or not. On the other hand, that lack of knowledge isn't reciprocal. Many atheists, Pagans and agnostics have indeed studied some Christianity, and many have read and studied the Bible more than the average Christian.
Some of us become indignant and insulted with the repeated warnings that our ways are evil and will lead us into this fanciful hell, and we retort.
Here's a proposed deal.... you refrain from telling us where we will go, and we'll stop telling you where to go. How's that sound?

You are completely wrong. There are people (I assume like yourself) who don't knock people who don't believe as you do. There are plenty of others who love to taunt the atheists, jews, muslims, etc. I certainly don't see anything to suggest the Christians get a harder time of it than anybody else.
To give you a non-Yahoo example of a Christian respecting atheists, here's a quote from President Bush (senior):
"I don't know that atheists should be considered as citizens, nor should they be considered patriots."
This was someone who was elected to the most powerful position in the world, and part of the reason he was elected was because of his religious views. That's not very respectful. And there are plenty of examples on Yahoo that are similar, I just thought I'd mention a high profile one.
I will accept that individual Christians may respect others. But you can't say the same for Christians in general as it's far from the truth - which is the same for other religions and for atheists.

I think all religions ought to respect each other and learn from one another. Antagonism certianly wont attract converts. And it wont help you refine your own beliefs.
Most of us are born into a family with a religious ideology and that is the way we believe as children. Only when we become adults do we truly seek out the truth and what is real. We can challenge and research our childhood beliefs. This is an excellent forum for that.
I declared my belief in Jesus as a child, I'm not here to insult anybody, just to answer my own questions and share my beliefs with others.
As for atheists, I'm a bit confused why they choose to spend time on the RS section. But I can easily ignore any foolish and insulting questions. That is the best thing to do. My grandma said dont get in a piss fight with a skunk, and that is good advice. So ignore that mud that has been slung and dont sling any yourself.

It seems like whenever you mention Christs name people really get their back up, I don't know why Christ loves everyone, why do they have such a problem with the guy :-) Yes I do think that Christianity is attacked very often and made fun of, but it just shows how powerful it is to disturb people to do that. More power to him :-) And I am not against other religions neither, one day they will all click together like one happy family, trust him, he is working out the paperwork :-)

I don't know about the others but let you know that Islam is the only religion who recognise Jesus Christ (PEACE BE UPON HIM) a
and a Muslim is not a Muslim if he does not accept/believe
Jesus Christ as Prophet of God and Bible as word of God , though there are some differences that Muslims believe the
Jesus Christ(PEACE BE UPON HIM) was prophet of God not son of God and the Bible is not in its original form. , for example eleven books were removed from King James Bible(Protestant Bible) which are in the Catholic Bible (its not the matter of translation the eleven books were removed.
You can confirm it with a little research.
i m ending here with this pray that may THE CREATOR show us all the straight path AMEN

I somewhat agree with you. Im an atheist and have asked questions concerning religions in general, and agnosticism. I guess if people criticize, its a bad thing based on what your saying.Outside of yahoo answers, peoples of other faiths are taunted by Christianity, do you not agree. I guess some people have been done wrong or believe the concept is wrong so they want to criticize and debate with you. Im not speaking for the hardcores who just cuss.

And Christians aim to insult pretty much every one else. Or else convert them.
How about you think before you make those kinds of statements because they can be turned around right back on you?
Why does YA allow things like that? Because everyone insults everyone on here on almost a constant basis and no one is innocent of it.
There's no reason why Christians should be allowed to insult, while nonChristians can't.

And there aren't questions that allegedly *insult* other groups? Just yesterday I saw a question asking Satanists what kind of evil stuff they do. A Satanist might find a question like that VERY insulting. I constantly see questions that Atheists might consider insulting. You're not the only ones whose religion is questioned or insulted so don't play the victim.

To be honest, no, I don't agree.
It seems to me to be six of one and half a dozen of the other.
While there are people willing to debate their beliefs here, and jolly interesting it is too, there are also plenty of people from all schools of belief (or non-belief) who enjoy knocking those of others. But than that's just part of Y!A I guess.
I personally quite like a bit of heated debate. But what I don't appreciate is the dogmatic ("What are you talking about? Read your Bible!!! This is blasphemous") or the plain uneducated ("yes ther rae i dont want to go deep in to it but ther r earthel heaven and hell i read 10 books on it ").
As for teasing, well things like "science points to the impossibility of evolution " and "DINOSAURS ARE JUST A GOVERNMENT CONSPIRACY" do kinda make me want to reply in the same vein!
