No, you need to tell the organization who took your IRA money that the contribution will be for tax year 2006. You don't have to tell the IRS anything about a ROTH contribution, but as others have said, you need to get the paperwork right, regarding the year.

No. Your IRA administrator will take care of that, but you do have to tell the administrator.

They're probably going to want proof of the amount you deposited, and it will have the date on it.
