Stress can and often does cause excessive shedding in both cats and dogs. However, so do some skin conditions that must be treated by a vet. For that reason, I'd recommend a trip to the vet to confirm that it's just stress and nothing more - just to be on the safe side.

Yes, your move could be impacting your cat's stress, which is why his hair is coming out in clumps now. Cats are very prone to stress, we just moved in August and mine was a mess, we had lived at our other place for 7 years. How long has it been since the patches are coming out? I would find a good vet and see if your kitty needs medication to mellow out for a bit.

Yes... the chnage in environemnt has stressed your kitty and stress can cause inordinate shedding. Diet is also a factor, but I would think it is stress, since you say that you've recently moved. See if kitty will get better by using one of those cat anti-stress products that you can buy at pet stores like "Feliway" or those special flower essences mixed for this purpose.

it could be stress. excessive shedding is normal with cats when stressed but bald spots not so much. i would see a vet. i know this sounds cruel but vaccuuming your cat will get rid of the hair from the surface. much of the hair has probably been there for a while.

I would call the vet if I were you. But it could be a nutritional issue. My parents accidentally gave their cat dog food for a while (keep them in plastic containers and mixed them up) and she got very mangy looking and lost hair the way you're describing. I suppose it could be nerves. But really the vet is the best one to ask.

go to the vet and get check up. i think your cat might have a case called heart worms. the vet should take care of it. they would also give you medicine for it. plz be quick about this. because your cat might suffer great pain
