The had an article in twins magazine about this. I never realized before I became the mother of twins how much these questions could get on ppls nerves. lol My top one is ...Are they twins? Let me explain my girls are fraternal but look exactly alike, they are almost 3 mths old both are 22 inches long, and only have a 3 oz weight difference. I actually flipped a bit and turned to a man and said," No I just had them really close together." lol I admit that wasnt nice. Also I have found that ppl will touch newborn twins alot more than they would a singleton. Like they think hey she has two if one gets sick she has the spare. One stranger actually kissed Jaden on the mouth when she was 2 mths. I always keep a 2 foot spread between me and any newborns. This is just common courtesy. Maybe those of you without multiples will think this is a rude question....4 mths ago I would have agreed. Not anymore lol

wait I have another story...after delivery of my twins I had a nurse come in to check on me,,,,, she said oh twins! are they identical? I said we dont know yet. She said I hope one day I have an identical boy and girl. I looked over at my hubbie and he looked at me....the minute she walked out of the room we both busted out laughing....then hubbie says I hope she wont be administering you any meds....the bad part was she was an RN...ahh well lol

My top one is "are they twins?" too. Mine are identical and I could have them dressed exactly the same and I would still get the questions.

But what really got me was how one lady asked the "are they twins?" question and when I said yes she asked if they were identical and I said yes. Then (snicker) she said "Oh this one is sooo cute!". Ummm. They. Look. The. SAMMEEE!!!

I don't have twins but I do have boys that are 2 1/2 years apart. People used to ask me all of the time if they were twins. And this happened a lot right after my youngest was born. Give me a break people, a newborn and a toddler...twins? Are people really that ignorant?

Dont let strangers do that!!! Simply smile and just position yourself so that they cant get so close to your babies.........im sure i will be like that with my lil girl when she gets here. As for the stupid questions they ask......most people are just fasinated by twins or more and just ask something to strike up conversation with you hoping to interact or whatever. I dont think they mean any harm.......they just dont think about how stupid their question is or prolly how many times a day you get asked.

You are right -- my favorite "Are they twins?". Mine are identical 4.5 yr old girls. Even if they are wearing the exact outfit they ask.

My second was (when they were about 6months), dressed in pink ruffle dresses with pink headbands "Are they girls or boys?". I could not answer, my mouth just dropped open (her daughter said "Mom, they are in PINK!").
