It's not as brutal as Basic, at least not in how they treat you. The training is focused on a specific specialty, so there's more classes and directed exercises as opposed to general drills. Whatever you may have heard, MP's are expected to shoot straight; so there should be some range work, but less camping in swamps for no apparent reason. He should have at least as much opportunity to write or call as in Basic, if not more. (Which is to say, still not much.) The weather can really suck, but that's life in the service for ya. At least it's not 11B...

AIT is where a soldier goes to learn the trade for which he/she enlisted or to which he/she has been assigned. Leonard Wood trains those going into the military police, as well as other career fields. There are many MOS in the Army and they're spread all over the country. If one were to go into the medical field, for instance, one would do one's AIT at Fort Sam Houston, located in San Antonio, Texas. If one trained in armor, one would go to Fort Hood. And so on. What's Leonard Wood like? Well, it's also known colloquially as "Fort Lost in the Woods". Use your imagination...my son is there at this moment for additional schooling.

I went to Fort lost in the woods for AIT. So, I'm guessing your fiance is either chemical an MP or an Engineer.
It shouldn't be too bad now. The weather is the most grueling. Just think of the worst location for a human being and you bet the army will go there.

while you're using your self, you get 5 days to get out of your college on your next base. while you're flying, the army will pay on your airplane cost tag and you get sooner or later to reach and initiate up your activity. You do be able to take go away, yet you're able to desire to coach for it first.
