I use normal pancake mix and stir in my own chocolate chips. Other people I know fold the chips into the mix as it is cooking. Either way turns out really good...

I don't make them too often (they're very rich!) but when I do, I make them with bisquik and I sprinkle the chips in the batter after I've poured the batter onto the skillet. This way all the chips don't sink to the bottom of the bowl.

I learned that the hard way. The first time I made them, I mixed the chips in. Most of the pancakes had a couple of chips. The last one had chocolate overload! (it was good though LOL)

I make them whenever one of my kids has a sleepover. It has become a tradition here. I use buttermilk pancake mix and sprinkle the chips over the pancakes in the pan. This way you can control the number of chips and leave some plain if one you your guests doesn't like chocolate. Make sure to clean off any melted chocolate that leaks onto the pan or it will scorch.

Chocolate Chip Pancakes
Ingredients:
2 cups all-purpose flour
3 tbsp sugar
½ tsp salt
1 tsp nutmeg (or cinnamon)
2 tsp baking powder
1 tsp baking soda
2 large eggs, lightly beaten
3 cups buttermilk
4 tbsp unsalted butter, melted (plus extra to grease skillet)
¾ cup mini chocolate chips

What to do:

STEP 1: Heat an electric skillet to 375 degrees F. Whisk together flour, sugar, salt, nutmeg, baking powder, and baking soda in a medium-sized bowl. Add eggs, buttermilk, and butter and whisk to combine. Don’t over mix. Fold in chocolate chips with a spatula.

STEP 2: When skillet is hot, add ½ tbsp butter to grease. Using a ¼ cup at a time, pour batter onto skillet in evenly spaced rounds. Cook for 2-3 minutes, until bubbles pop on top and edges appear done. Flip and cook for about a minute more, until golden brown.

STEP 3: Serve immediately or cool on a wire rack and eat as a midday snack. Really, they’re terrific cold.

I do not like them as im a huge fan of syrup and bacon... and egg yolk...

But i have made them and my son does like them.

Jud make Pancake batter as usual, even box (just add water stuff is fine) add the chocolate chips after you make your circle in the pan by sprinkling them on top ...

They're BOMB!! just buy a box of that pancake mix that you just add water to and a bag of chocolate chips and put as many choco. chips in the batter as you want and make like you regularly would! don't put syrup though, it ruins it! put real butter on top and peanut butter if you like p.b. and aren't allergic to it or just butter and eat right off the stove....they're soooo good.....mmmmm!! I want some!!

I LOVE them!!! I buy only milk chocolate chips and I place the chips very neatly down into the batter after I pour it in the pan. That way you get evenly spaced choclolate.
