If you are a good human being and are respectful of others then I think you will be respected in return, regardless of your religion. I work in a professional environment and religion isn't an issue and is rarely discussed, as it should be, because it is personal. However, when it does come up we have respectful and enlightening conversations. Because religion is personal you should find your own truth. I studied hundreds of religions and ended up where I am. Utah is a great place with tons to do, religous or not.

very strictly LDS Utah? I have lived in the SLC Metro area all my life. I was gone only for the 4 years I was in the military. I find Utah a great place to raise a family. The people are mostly warm and friendly. It does require a Christian to be up on their Bible and hold firmly to Christ. But since those are both good things I can say that Utah can bring the best out in a Christian. I am a tee-totaler so I don't even know where the bars are. I have been told dozens of times that I would make a good Mormon ***GOD Forbid*** but I guess they meant it as a compliment. I don't know what part of the State you live in but Utah is a beautiful place. Her people work hard and are for the most part caring and honest.. You can get the views of any religion you want here there are strong Jewish, Islamic, and Christian communities here. All you have to do to learn about them is open your front door... Jim

You don't say if you yourself are Mormon or not.
And I have no idea what bars have to do with religion.
If you are interested in religion(s), what are you looking for? Christian? Judaism? Islam? New Age? Paganism? Jehovah's Witnesses? Buddhism? Hinduism?

Most religions use some form of the Bible. So, reading the Bible for yourself would be a good place to begin.
Mormons have added books to the Bible to fit their doctrines.
Jehovah's Witnesses have changes words in the Bible to fit their doctrines.
Judaism uses the Torah (Old Testament), but not the New Testament.
Islam uses the writings of Muhammad (Qu'ran).
New Age uses everything and anything that makes them feel good.
Paganism uses whatever ancient rites and idols are designated.

You really need to focus on one or two things, and then begin to investigate for yourself.

If you are LDS then I know you have reliegion which is man serching for God. You wont find Him being involved with LDS. Ask God to forgive you and ask Jesus to come into your life. Understand the so called jesus LDS talkes about is not God the Word (Jesus) the bible speaks about. Jesus was not created and was not the brother of lucifer. Get rid of religion and have a relationship with God. I John 5:7 may have been removed or changed in LDS version of the bible

What sorts of views are you looking for? My personal feelings on religion is that it's part of finding one's self. Sure most of us are forced into a religion by our parents at a young age, but there comes a time when everyone needs to branch out and explore the world. Get a taste for what other faiths and lifestyles have to offer. Find who you really are and seek out the religion you belong, or don't belong in.

I was raised in a strictly Lutheran family in Idaho. I never felt right in their religion and sought out where I belonged. Eventually I became a Druid. Not because it was rebellious against the folks, or that i felt I needed it to fit in with society, but because it's the faith that I found out I belonged to.

That's my view on religion. It's about finding one's self and your own path to enlightenment.

I don't know what bars have to do with religion, but okay. Most other religions make you have to live a certain ways, and perform rituals in order to get to their stated paradise. Most of the other prophets besides the one in the Bible stated that they spoke with God and He told them how life should be lived, but there is no proof. Joseph Smith included. God doesn't want you to do anything to come to Him. You don't have to fix yourself and make sure your perfect before you seek Him out, because we all know that will never happen. No matter what we do we will never be worthy of God. The good part is that we don't need to. He loves us the way we are and wants to have a relationship with us. All you have to do is have faith in Him. The gift of eternal life is free with no strings attached. Once He is apart of your life, the rest comes pretty naturally. You still won't be perfect, but you'll feel what it's like to be truly loved %100, and you'll want to get closer to God and learn more about Him. You'll want to make Him happy and you will start reading the Bible to find out what makes Him happy. I pray you find what your looking for. God bless you.

Christians see LDS as a cult. Go to Apologetics Index on line and check out Mormon.

I believe Jesus Christ is the only way truth and life and that no one comes to the Father but through Him- as John 14:6 says.
I know I have sinned against God and I need forgiveness, and that is only through Jesus Christ- Romans 3:23 and without repentence and forgiveness through Jesus Christ you will not inherit the Kingdom of Heaven- Romans 6:23 "For the wages of sin is death"
--I know and believe that God gives us salvation through Jesus Christ and only by HIS GRACE, nothing we do can get us into heaven, but simply by believing in the gospel of Jesus Christ and putting our faith in Him. Ephesians 2:8 says "For it is by grace you have been saved through faith, and its not of yourselves but it is the gift of God"
We do not deserve this wonderful gift of salvation but God gives it freely to those who believe in Him. I am a born again christian, one who has confessed Jesus is Lord and has put my faith in Christ, repented and been washed clean from sin- forgiven. John 3:3 says "Unless you are born again you cannot see the Kingdom of God" --to be born again of the Spirit of God- placing your faith in Him and repenting of sin. For there is no other way, and Jesus holds the key to heaven- God is the God of the Bible- and it is His written word as John 1:1 says Jesus is God! Praise and Glory belong to him!
