I am a reveert to islam. I was raisedchristian and last year in september I became musim. I was searching for the truth to answers I had about christianity that never made since to me.I started learning about Islam and realized that my belief is what the basics for Islam are One God and that I believed in all the prophets (peace be upon them all). After 6 months studying I became muslim alhumdillah. I became muslim for myself and only for myself I found the truth and I didn't want to be a part of a religion that didn't support my beliefs.

Happy to those who choose Islam..)) As you have access to the internet I would advise you to read the Quran, not only the words, but also the underlying explanations called "TEFSIR". These will help you to understand the text from the historic point of view..
Islam has 5 mandatory things:
1) To believe in God and accept Hz. Muhammed as his prophet. The exact phrase to say outloud is: "Eshedu en la ilahe ilallah ve eshedu en ne muhammeden resul allah." Your muslim friend can help you with the pronounciation.
2) To pray (Namaz). You have to learn how to pray 5 times a day, both the movements and the prayers in Arabic. They are all written in the Quran. You have to memorize them.
3) Zekat: This means to help other people. At least once a year you give part of your money to the needy. The amount has to be calculated according to your belongings, jewellery, any real estates and whatever other things you have.
4) Oruç: To fast. Once a year in the month of Ramadan you are required to fast. This will help your body to take a rest and after one month of fasting you feel refreshed.
5) HAC: Visiting the holy place of Kabe in Mekkah. Every Muslim who can afford this should visit the Kabe at least once in a lifetime.
I hope this helps, and I hope you will be able to divorce your husband.. I wish you good luck in your future life..

Islam will accept you and you will most likely be treated just fine by a Muslim man. I am not Muslim and none of the negative answers you see here are even close to the truth for me. I am well respected, deeply loved and very spoiled by my Muslim husband.
Please read about Islam, contact an Islamic center and speak to Muslim women. Get information by researching Islam, not by asking here. Unfortunately there are many hateful, uneducated bigots here.

Won't comment about your life, But I will advise you to read about islam first, make your research and when you feel that it is convincing to you , go for it, but its not a good idea to ambrace it just to get married to a person, religion is not a Joke, one day when you would not be happy with your muslim husband and you see some other person like christain and you would want to marry him, would you leave islam like you are willing to to leave hinduism?? be clear about your life Lady !!! I don't meant to be rude but this is a reality !!
ther is no rule to follow to accept islam, its vyer simple, just accept it by heart and get some good muslim to guide you regarding this and go for it, Islam will definitely accept you once you get in after understanding it fully and not for getting a man only !!!
lady !! think well, and decide it once for all.......
Good Luck !!!
Edit :
LOL i can see many peoples telling you that islam is evil, this is your first test :P
And as you can see peoples giving verses out of context, well if they write it with full context , it would change the whole meaning of it, but why would he/she give? this is very commong practice to project islam that way..Judge islam as a religion and not from the media and its blinde followers !!!

Look carefully and open your eyes.
Repeat this 200 timez....
"Ghandi" is a father and Islam is a young religon."
repeat this 100 timez......
"I'm Hindustani not a Islamic servant woman of Arabia."
Now how do u feel?
Okky. Now dont marry him not bc, his muslim but, this will not be a "Shadi" of ur life.

Love is blind but, not Islam....
Islam is not the answer for you, must accpt "GHandi."
