I'm assuming that you used a paid preparer. If you did, you should talk to her and ask why your refund was lower than you anticipated. Many times there's a perfectly good explanation as to why you didn't get much back. But, it's also possible that there's a mistake somewhere on your return. In any case, take a good long look at the return to verify its accuracy before signing. The ultimate responsibility for a mistake on your tax return is yours-you sign it, you own it.
