honestly this depends on the camera. The lens has nothing to do with it, actually, its the sensor that actually senses the image, the "film" if you will. Most digital cameras have sensors that are slightly small than 35 mm, meaning that the numbers on the lens are exactally true since your projecting on a small surface, slighty changeing the characteristics of the lens. BUT, in the last year or so, full frame digitals have been coming more and more promniant, meaning that the sensor is actually the same size as a 35 mm (or 120, or whatever your using or what not) This means that now the whole system willl work just the same with just the same properties.

Because if your lens holds a fifth of vodka, you can make it through an entire concert. Those darn wide angles only hold a couple of shots...
