Qonox,
I agree with you. I wish there were more evidence shown to back up his claims. It seems that he has other videos out which do show more evidence but still not as much as I would like to see.
Thanks Doug and RoseWithin,
I watched the video posted. The person basically is saying that God works through us. This still seems to me as a rationalization. I have a hard time seeing how this singles out specific God, his entire premise is almost circular reasoning.
RoseWithin,
The old testament still has an overwhelming importance to Christianity. The laws may not entirely effect Christians, but it still effects our basis of how God is.

impossble_dream,
I agree partially with you concerning positive thinking, I am not sure if there are studies to support it but I worked in a Nursing home and it is fairly evident that positive thinking helped both Atheists and Theists. I do not believe it works with restoring limbs though. As you stated, I have yet to see any published articles on limb restoration through faith. We would be very skeptical and require evidence.
Papa Bear,
I am glad that you have recovered from the Streptococcus infection.
Everyone,
Thanks for posting your views regarding this video. I especially would like to thank everyone who took the 11 minutes to watch the whole video.
Thumbs up to all

There is no discrepancy. The Bible does not say people will be healed of anything in the last days, or any time since the death of the last of the Apostles. We do know the human body has the abilities to fight many diseases, and to even heal otherwise significant injuries, within a limit, but science still does not understand why does or does not.
My own case is an example. I ran a 105.5 temperature for two weeks, with a Streptococcus infection of my heart. Though I did have minor damage to my heart, I did cook a portion of my brain. The activity center of my brain is now in a different area than it was before. In terms of a computer, it moved and reformatted the boot-up area of the cerebral cortex. This happens very rarely in brain damage victims, and they don't know why it happens. There simply is a lot they do not know about the human body and people like to say that it is a miracle, when all it is just a process of the human body that we still don't understand.
As for amputees, they will be healed, after Armageddon, when all humans are returned to perfection, with no aging or illness.
Just because some self professed Christian says that it is a miracle of God does not make it so.

Well, I watched the video. I'm not a practicing Christian, but I studied catechism growing up. Whoever produced this video doesn't seem to know much about Christianity. For example everyone knows that God didn't write the Bible. There are rationalizations for most of his questions. He misses the entire point of original sin and life's tests. Granted the questions asked are pointed and interesting, but the answers are way off. I think the producer should brush up on his theology a little, because his overly simplified answers are not the least bit enlightening. I'm not saying there is a God, but this video is full of absurdities.

Why are you using the Old Testament here? We are NO longer under the Law of Moses.
Common sense would tell you what this is saying.
Yes, but this person on the video is trying his best to discredit God... well will not cut the mustard with me.. if they had an understanding of the scripture given to them by the Holy Spirit... then they may merit some intellectual conversation back. But, when non believers try to understand with their own understanding... they will always see a "flaw" in TRUTH.
Yes the Old Testament goes hand in hand with the New Testament.
Many ask questions knowing Christians can't answer.. because they are not God... many do this to make fools of themself. We are not to entertain them. Wonder why so many do?

ten minutes. Cant do it now.
I do agree. I heard his voice.
OK, now I agree because I watched it and I am a rational person
I even took the time to watch Doug's video. I have to wonder what his PHD is in. He said god does heal amputees with medicine and doctors in hospitals that we wouldn't have if i wasn't for Christianity... OK. And heals them on the inside. Yeah. What does god do about injustice? Well, he sent this guy. Good job, god.
I did a web search, he must have studied theology. Not impressive, not matter how much he panders to me in an ESPN jersey
People saying he gave the wrong explanations should give us the correct explanations to these questions.

I dont agree with it for many reasons, for one thing, everyone know that faith plays a big roll in healing... even if you do not believe in God, there isnt a Doctor out there who will deny the healing effect that comes from "positive thinking".. which is faith in and of itself. If I have faith God will heal me, it is the same as me thinking positively about my healing. However, not many people can "think positively" when it comes to missing limbs. I dont know why exactly but that has to do with the individual... it appears to be impossible so not many people excersize faith for a regenerated limb. BUT......every year there are doctumented cases in many churches of such things as limb regeneration... of course it doesnt make national news because people believe its its a lie. It would however be great if at least ONE made national headlines but, to find these things out, you will need to research modern day miracles.

It's arrogant. Not that I disagree with some points, but I do disagree with much of it. He is touting 'scientific evidence' as disproving the power of prayer, but he really has no proof, and didn't show any of the evidence.
And again, it's arrogant, which discredits it even more for me.
Not Christian, but I do believe in God.

Just judging from the few minutes I watched, he says the Bible is complete nonsense but offers no evidence to back it up. Just that's it's illogical and irrational. Well, he's right. But I was hoping he'd offer some hard evidence not just opinion.

Not wasting 10 minutes on that. Besides, I don't like his voice and it would be torture to have to listen to him for 1 minute.
