I have local authority planning permission for building an extension but my neighbour is harassing my builder claiming the scaffolding is too close to her house.

If the scaffolding is on your property then tell her that the scaffold is a necessity to the work your having done and the local authority know the work is being carried out ,
However if any part of the scaffold is on or over hanging her property then you have no option but to remove it ( you could carry on doing the work until the council turns up and just play dumb about it ) .
But at the end of the day she is still your neighbour and you have to live there .

in the construction field we encounter problems with nasty neighbors all the time. She might be truely concerned but if she is being nasty tell her to go play in traffic. There are laws for construction courtesy, such as , work will not start before 7:00 am, etc. But as long as you are not on her property and your workers are not causing intentional problems, she can scream till her head explodes and no one will do a thing about it. Just follow any community/ city/ county rules you have. And tell her to be in the middle of the street when the bus comes by! Yes she is your neighbor so only start a war if you really want one. But remind yourself, and her, karma is a *****!

Tell her to speak to the scaffolding company direct, they should know if it is erected correctly

Show her your permit and ask her to speak to the planning commision. You are within your rights and she is just being a dumdum. Unfortunatly she IS your neighbor so try to be cordial.
