Sorry, but you should still take kitty to the vet. He probably has a slight infection, and they will give you some eye meds. You can get them in liquid or ointment. Ointment will last longer & does not need to be administered as often as drops, but for some people (and cats) drops are easier to administer. If you're concerned about vet cost, it shouldn't be too much - just an office call & the eye meds - which won't be much.
Your kitty could also be getting/have an eye ulcer, so definitely get him to the vet. Good luck.

squinting/closed eye is a sign of pain. Sorry, you should take him to the vet. He could have a scratched cornea, conjunctivitis....should be seen before it gets worse.

I have 10 (barn) cats. ur cat is sick. their eyes start to get saled shut if u leave it go. we give our own cats 2 cc or less of penicillian for about a week and that cures them or ur vet may give u medicine to put in with their food. dont leave it alone becuz it ges so bad that they will really die from it. that happened to me twice. it was sad.

im sure allt he cat needs is a cat eye drop, sounds like the eye is infected and it shouldnt cost more then 30-40$ to go get the cat checked out and get the meds. if its infected you dont want the cat to suffer, please take it in and get it some help. antibiotics may be the only thing to help.

your cat really needs a vet, it might be simple and curable condition, but cannot be diagnosed this way

CALL OR TAKE HIM TO THE VET. HE/SHE IS THE ONLY PERSON WHO CAN REALLY HELP YOU.
