I have fine hair, so fine that most of the usual solutions don't work.

It is baby fine, sparse, slightly wavy, medium brown with no natural highlights. It is very healthy. Anything with multiple parts (like bangs or most braids) exposes large areas of scalp, which looks terrible. If I braid all my hair, the braid is only about 1"x1/2" thick. I do not have enough hair to do layers. Slight undercutting works though. Most short cuts have the exposed scalp problem. It does not do "messy" in a good way. Almost all hair accessories fall out- bobby pins, very small barrettes, and headbands are the only ones that work. Headbands only work when it is very clean. Curls and French twists look good, but take too much work for everyday, especially curls.

At the moment, I have a shoulder-length A-line cut, dyed red. I am willing to color, perm, cut, whatever. All I can think of is a perm and/or dyeing it blond to help with the exposed scalp issue, but I still need a cut.

Please do _not_ suggest:

Layers
Bangs
Mousse
Short haircut
Hair sticks

Tried them. They don't work.

Consider hair extensions professionally done at a good hair salon

First, if you dye it blonde, it will not exposed any scalp issues. When you dye it to dark colors it will. Second, the thing I always love doing is having twisties in my hair, and I also love when I take only about an inch from the front then pull it down and put it in a small RUBBER band it the back under neath my hair. It looks like I pulled my hair behind my ears but really it's in a ponytail. Also another good way to have your hair is by putting it up in a messy bun. Or putting half of your hair up and have it a lil curly in a messy bun, then straighten the half that's down.

you can layer it and then have it bleached it will make it fuller and help abit. sometimes a perm can also help go and have it done. i can do this myself to myself. but you sorta have to know how it will help or go show someone and they can help you but layering is good for thickness and helping with bleach also helps so there is possibles tuff and there are stuff sets to put on hair also that can make it fuller looking and appear nicer.
