Sadly, apart from giving them a wide berth or even Listerine, the only way is to actually tell them straight. Have you been to the dentist lately, or that garlic you ate must have been strong... anything like that. Just think, however, how you might react if told the same or similar thing.

Offer them some gum after you take one 1st. Do that every 5 minutes, maybe they will catch on.
