For dinner on New Year's Day you must have something green to ensure prosperity throughout the year and black-eye peas for good luck throughout the year.

I think the most superstitious thing I belive in, is walking under a ladder!

Well I don't really actually believe in superstitions. There are a number that I "follow" because they're kinda habit, and why rock the boat? I always eat my black eyed peas on New Years Day. If I spill salt, I throw a dash of it over my left shoulder. I never walk under a ladder, or sit my purse on the floor, or hang my coat on a doorknob.

That if you sweep my feet, I wont get married.
If my palms itch, it means i'm going to be getting rid of $$ or getting $$ soon. (I prefer getting $$)
If my nose itches, someone wants to kiss me.
If the clasp of my necklace is on either side of the charm on it, it means someone either misses me or loves me.
That if I plant my sons umbilical stub under a rose bush, his cheeks will be rosy.
I eat my fill of black-eyed peas, greens, & roast on New Years Day.
I believe in the turkey wish bone.
I believe in karma as well...but if you believe in superstitions, then things will happen.

Nothing...you make your own LUCK and you fall prey to superstitions believing in them. MIND over myth.
