God is a spirit...and you would think that male and female fit better together. It is only possible for one of each gender to reproduce. We were brought into the earth to reproduce, 'go forth and multiply'. Since we are created in His image, God has many faces, nationalities, and colors.

:>) I also know He has a sense of humor because He created me. Good question, makes me think.

who knows God might even be a woman. after all why do we refer some things to the female sex...like planets, mother nature, that first car you drove, etc. In the begining God created man and that was it. Then he created a woman because he knew the man needed a helper and a partner and from there boom! there it is we now have generations of adams. He is actually reproducing through us because we are his creation if you believe in the Bible. Or maybe his way of reproducing is different from our view of reproducing. Good question maybe you should bring it up to God himself and asking him when you see him. lol.

God created humanity in God's image. "Male and female, he created them." God doesn't have gender, but we do. It makes it easier for (some of) us to understand God by seeing how God is like us. Of course, that doesn't work so well if you are female and God is described as male...

It is a male and female because mankind reproduces. What would be the purpose of your reproductive organs if there wasn't a spouse to appreciate them? Or do you wish you didn't have reproductive organs and the ability to use them?

I feel that the bible was written by man so the male terms used for Him are kind of expected. The reason most people use the term he or she is to associate more with GOD it is easier to imagine a man or woman that it is to imagine something that you have never seen before.

I don't think god needs gender at all. I think some people need to think of god as like a person so they can relate better, but god is not at all like a human being.

Some people like to think of god as a kind of father figure, which has its good and bad points. It's good if you like to think of a father as taking care of you--bad if you think of a father as someone who bosses you around.

Humans reproduce; There's only one God and He doesn't need to reproduce. Which is more redundant, your question or my answer?

Gender does not apply to God.

We say it because it is easier for us.
