A chloroplast transforms light into energy useful for the euglena (Chemical energy?), An eyespot is sensitive to light but consumes energy, presumably partially gathered by the chloroplast. The eyespot is used to find food, which is eaten and transformed into energy. So, the relationship might be that they are both used to provide energy. One from light, as plants do, the other by assisting in finding and eating food, like animals.
