are there Vet. doctors who perform sex operations on dogs that have gender issues. Now that we "have come so far" and are so aware of how many mistakes nature/God makes with respect to gender, shouldn't our pets get the medical benifits that trans-gender humans have available to them.

For Malley: as to your question ,"how do I know my dog has gender issues". I have noticed that he/she love Broadway musicals when they are on PBS. And he/she seems to hum tunes by Barbara S. and Judy Carlin. Also, one day I say him/her trying on a jewel studded collar. I could go on..believe me this dog is having some serious gender probs.. oh< I almost forgot; he/she smiles when Hillary Clinton or Rosie O' are on the tube while painting his/her little toe nails hot pink.

they should get the same medical benefits as humans. however, it would be very difficult to find a doctor who is willing to perform the operation. also, it would be risky and would leave your dog in bad physical condition until it has fully healed. just like when a human undergoes an operation, they are under extreme pain and medication after the operation, the same thing would occur with your dogs. if you know the risks and can find a vet willing to do it them power to you.

Hey! Nothing wrong with costly operations to help one's self esteem! I'm a different person since I've had my tummy tuck - LOVE my new bod!! Only had to had to take out a second mortgage on the house to pay for it too? Does he raise his little paw pinky when he drinks from his water bowl? :)

How does your dog feel about this? Wouldn't this be an example of imposing your thoughts onto the dog's? What if the dog is just gay? What are you, like a homophobe? You got something against gay dogs?

Sorry, but it doesn't sound like it's the dog who has the problems.

How do you know the dog has gender issues??

Dispite the ethical issues this brings up, currently there is no sex change operations for dogs, we barely do it well for humans.

They can't even do doggie transplants yet =(

Who cares!? Leave the poor dog alone. What if someone decided you need a sex change? Anyway, it would just cost you money. Don't bother.

When your dog tells you he/she wants to change his gender, be sure to make a recording of that conversation.

It sounds as though the dog isn't the one with problems.

If You want to go down that road then so be it . but let the dog world evolve themselves and when they have let them decide for themselves.
