Unfortunately, the American people aren’t hearing about this, as Army medic Corporal Ignacio Garza observes:

Based on his experiences in Iraq, events there are not as bad as the news media make it seem, an Army medic from Adrian said.

Cpl. Ignacio Garza, a medic in the 1st Armored Division home on leave after serving in Iraq for six months, said the troops don’t watch television news for war updates because they think none of the networks show an accurate depiction of what’s happening. He said they ignore large parts of the country, including the Kurd-dominated north, that are stable.

In fact, if the mainstream media isn’t ignoring a story in Iraq they could just as easily be making one up. For the second time in six weeks, the Associated Press has put out a story from Iraq that isn’t backed by the facts:

The Associated Press has again put out an Iraq story detailing events that did not happen. This time, it involves an airstrike that, " killed a family of four during a firefight." However, according to the press desk of Multi-National Forces-Iraq, no air strike happened during that firefight, and MNF-I also reported that which six insurgents were killed by American troops in Baghdad on January 1. This is the second time in roughly six weeks that the AP has been caught fabricating events.

Controversy and hardships sell stories, media companies like most companies still have to turn a profit.

The bulk of the media is in bed with the liberal elite and the democrats in America. They have hated Bush, since he "stole" the election in 2000. What the media in America does not realize is the fact that they are creating an even greater divide in the country. The Democrats, have too much to gain if the America fails-elections to wins, etc. I find it utterly disgusting that the liberal elite have taken up such a campaign of hate against the President and the American servicemember. As a servicemember myself, I cannot even watch the news any more, since it is filled with hatred for soldiers and lies. The goal of the media is clear-Complete and utter control for the Democrats of the US Government.

The only reason I watch the news at all is for weather, but that is like once in a blue moon because they are rarely right. I too have noticed the anti-war bias in the media. The last good thing I remember seeing on the news was when the statue of Hussein was pulled down.

This is a deeper question than might first appear. We have to go back to 1913 to begin to get a glimpse at what's going on in today's media. Without understanding our past we probably are pretty clueless about our present current events as well as what the future holds.

In 1913, Congress gave away American sovereignty over our nation's monetary, and much of our economic, policy to a privately owned corporation. You may have heard about this but one place you may never hear about it is through the mainstream media. You know this corporation by name: it's the Federal Reserve.

The owners of the Federal Reserve also control, by owning the majority shares of stock in much of the mainstream media corporations (as they do in many other corporations). The owners of the Federal Reserve have a 14-point political agenda and controlling the flow of information is just one of those 14 points.

I could go on and on about this topic and, if you'd like, you can contact me to learn more. But that should give you a reasonable answer to your question and gives you enough to get started doing your own research.

They lie because they have their own political agenda. They are mostly democrats and want to blame EVERYTHING, including bad weather on Bush. Notice how since gas has been coming down and our econimy is doing so much better, noone gives him any credit. But when it was bad you sure heard about it being his fault. I also have a friends that just got back from Iraq. He said the same thing. He said Do Not listen to the media. He is going back tomorrow.

I've noticed the same things; I've been to Iraq twice and its not as bad as the news makes it out to be. The news only reports limited things for two reasons:
A car bomb killing a poor GI sells

They work for the Demon-crats and want to promote their agenda; the war in Iraq is futile, to costly, killing to many poor GIs, and that we can't possibly win.

The truth is that the war can be won; we soldiers want to be there and finish the job; and wouldn't be so costly if we could do our jobs 100%.

During my tour in Iraq we had cable TV news running 24x7 in our TOC. I would compare what the media was saying with 'ground truth' and wonder if they were talking about the same country I was in.

The media sells three products: Fear; Uncertainty and Doubt.
