well me and him have been going on and off for like 3 months now and the first time we went out we went out for 6 weeks then i dont know how long the next well i am with him again and we are doing very good.

That depends on whether you like him, whether he's good to you, whether he's considerate of your needs, etc. Only you can decide this. The only two people that will be affected by the decision to break up or not are you and your boyfriend. If he's a jerk, if he's selfish (and self focused), doesn't take you out, doesn't seem proud to have you as a girlfriend, then break up with him.
