My daughter is 18 months and I just got her potty trained. I was going to wait until she was 2, but she was so interested in it everytime I went. I bought her a potty and got her the Elmo Potty Time video and a potty book and I just left it out for her interest. Every time I went to the potty, she went with me and I had her sit on her potty. I also taught her the sign for potty as she doesn't say too many words either. Now she gives me the sign and off we run. It took about 3 weeks but we're doing great.

You'll know if she's not ready, she won't show any interest.

I don't believe it is ever to early to start. There is a few women who start potty training as soon as their baby's were born. They have a lot of time I guess cause they watch for the potty face then put their baby on the potty. I guess if I had enough time I'd try that but I don't. It may take you a little longer but it won't be nearly as hard. Of course that depends on how your little angel takes to it. Good luck!

No, I dont have kids but our neighbors started potty training all of their kids at 18 months by taking them to go in every hour and all of them were potty trained by 2.

19 months is pretty early. Since she can't communicate well, that will only make the process longer and harder. Not to mention at this age she has little to no control of her bladder, so potty training her would be a waste of time.

You can try it, but really your best bet is to wait until *she* is ready..not when *you* are ready.

Every child is different. This much I know to be true.

My first daughter was totally interested in potty training at 18 months. She could pull up and pull down her own pants and tell us pee-pee or poops. (we thought that these two things were important) We bought her the cool little princess potty seat, books and not to mention training pants and pull ups. Everything was going great, then she got bored of it. 10 months later and alot of $$$ and frustration I gave up. She went through 7 pull ups in about 5hrs. and I was upset. I threw out all of her pull-ups, put blankets and towels on her bed and put her in her underware. I told her that that was enough, mummy quits. It has been 2 years and except when she has had a U.T.I. she only had an accident 3 times.
BUT......
With my other daughter I decided that I was going to do it differently. I was going to wait till she told me, flat out, that she was ready. No pressure on her and no frustration on myself. She liked watching her sister go to the potty. She wanted to wear underware with princesses like her big sister. (I bought her some and put them on over her diaper) Then we went away and when we got to our destination she politlytold me that she stayed dry and she wanted to go "naked bum" in her underware. (I forgot to pack her some) I told her that if she was good and went potty for the rest of theday, mummy would go and buy her new ones for the next day. Low and behold she stayed dry, and I had to go out and get some underware. She was 25 months old and potty trained herself with the observation of her big sissy. Who knew! Just to be safe, for the next few weeks when we went in the car, or overnight, we put her in diapers (till we ran out)
Every child is different. Let them tell you when they are ready.
Just like every child, every parentlng book is also different.
Don't force it. Trust me they know.
Remember there are not any 13 year olds still wearing diapers because they couldn't be potty trained.
Best of luck with it. Stay calm and don't get mad over accidents,
that's why they are called accidents, it cannot be helped.

Not at all...I have three little girls and the best way I found to potty train them (and this may sound bad) let them run around the house naked, when they urinate on themselves they do not like it and they get trained very fast. I never had a problem with them pooping on themselves, they picked it up really fast.

You should start potty training them as soon as they can tell you that they have to go to the restroom.

If she is interested you could try, some kids are earlier than others.
Get a cool potty, that she would love to try out.
Just make it a fun event.

you can try, but your child will do it whenever she is ready to, i think you will be able to tell if she is ready or not by trying though
