I have 4 months old female kitten. I recognize the most of her signs when she mews. When she is hungry, when she needs cuddle, when she wants to play with me, etc. Nowadays she walks around the flat and cries a lot. But she mews to nowhere. Do you know this sign?

Has your kitten been spayed yet? If she hasn't been spayed yet, it's possible that she may be maturing early and going into oestrus, or 'heat'. If she's meowing and calling out a lot, and you see her crouching low on the ground with her rear end up in the air and possibly with her tail off to the side, or rolling around on the floor a lot, that means she's come into heat, and needs to be spayed as soon as possible. Call your vet for an appointment, and be VERY careful to keep her confined indoors and to keep her away from any male cats until her spay surgery. Don't try to give her any human medicines - if she's in heat she isn't suffering, she's just calling out to attract a male cat.

If she has already been spayed, you may want to have the vet check her out to make sure she's feeling allright. If the vet says she's fine, it's possible that she's developed the habit of calling out to get your attention. Try to pay attention to her when she's being quiet, and don't automatically pet her or pay attention to her when she's meowing. If you do that consistently, it should cut down on the meowing at nothing.

If she hasn't been to a vet to get vaccines & dewormed she needs to be. Also get her spayed she could be goin' into heat. Cats will mew alot during that time

Sometimes cats do that when they are trying to get your attention, and it may be because they are hurt or sick, or they may just be bored. If it seems excessive, you may want to call a vet just to check, but my kitten started doing that after a while too; just meowing for no reason. I think it's normal.

It's normal for them to do that. There is no reason they do this, they just do. I have a 4 month old kitten too, and he will cry for no reason. Me and my fiance are thinking about getting another kitty to keep him company.

She probable desires to play, yet shop in mind that maximum cats do unlike having their abdomen touched--while they are on their decrease back, they have a tendency to sense vulnerable and can attack in case you touch her abdomen. My advice: while she's on her decrease back like that, try stroking close to her head, that way she sees you and could no longer attempt to bite and scratch you. additionally, some cats while they want interest will stand on their hind legs and now and returned place their front paws on your leg--my cats do this each and all the time. I basically basically place their front paws decrease back on the floor in front of them, the place they belong.

If in the flat there is some one living above you she could hear or sense noises coming from the ceiling.

My cats always meow. They are talking and sometimes that means to themselves. I wouldn't worry about it though.

Mew in the air....hmmm...unusual. I thought they just did that underwater.
