Drink LOTS of water. Avoid dry heat like electric heaters, car heaters, blow dryers, etc. Consider running a humidifier.

Moisturize, moisturize, moisturize!

Wear a heavy night cream before bed.

Use products according to your skin type. If you have dry skin, use products for dry skin! If acne is not a problem, don't use Proactiv.

Proactiv is pretty drying, so there may not be much more you can do.

Try using it only at night, then in the morning use a substantial oil free moisturizer. Avoid anything with mineral oil or petroleum.

It is important to use the moisturizer on damp skin to seal in the moisture. Apply 2 coats and apply no later than 20 minutes after washing.

DRINK PLENTY OF WATER. I have the dry skin syndrome as well. The meds I take affect it too. Now remember to moisturize everyday. I moisturized several times a day. The heaters in your home will dry you out as well. Make sure you apply plenty of moisturizer before be.
I use an all natural recipe for a mask that I use too. It is pretty gross, but it leaves your skin feeling as soft as a baby's bottom.
