Last February, I broke my ankle. I was given the OK to go back to work in July. I had nothing but problems. I went back to my surgeon and the x-rays showed a build up in my ankle. The surgeon said it had gone arthritic and is calcifying. Does anyone know any good ways to deal with the pain? Is there anything that can be done or will it eventually fuse and limit my abilities?

Add Gloucosomin and Chondrontin to your diet. These supplements lubricate the joints and makes movement easier. I would also say you should take ibuprofen to help with inflammation. Soaking your ankle in a hot bath is helpful, massage helps. Swimming is one of the best exercises for arthritis sufferers. Good luck.

I broke my ankle 30 years ago and it has given me trouble throughout the years. What I do that helps is soak in hot water a couple of times a day when it's really bad and afterwards apply analgesic cream. I also get deep tissue therapy massage at least once a week. I have never had a problem of it fusing, but if I don't keep the muscles worked I start to lose flexibility.

I also use anti inflammatory Medication whenever the pain is really severe. I get medication that is prescribed by the doctors. I don't find over the counter medication to work for me.

if you have any questions let me know.
