Hello, I need help finding my father beacuse I need to get to know him before the age 21. There is nothing wrong with me I just have this weird feeling that is all. All I know is his name and that is Jhonny Nash. I know nothing else of him. My mother says he's tall and he looks like me, I don't know if he has a criminal record or not but I would just like to find him.

I think it is important to get to know your father, and I never was able to find mine, since he likely was dead by the time I knew how to research.
My (friendly) suggestion is that it is also important to think through any issues that might come up, and without making any judgements. Since there may be several of the same name, you need to be sure you find the right one (and is Jhonny the right spelling? normally it might be Johnny). Can you find a way to contact him discreetly? It is very possible that he would not appreciate the possibility of causing animosity with his present family, if they don't know you exist. You really want any reunion to be friendly, if possible.
Once you consider these thoughts... there are ways of searching for living persons that don't involve paying a private detective. Most of these depend on further details. With your mom's help, I could ask some questions that might help you. I'd be happy for you to email me researchbug@sbcglobal.net
and I can give you further ideas.

If you're willing to pay for a subscription, Intelius.com works pretty well, I used to use it for my job, doing skip tracing. You should also try using Reunion.com; it's a website specifically designed to help match people up with long lost relatives and friends. It would also probably help if you talked to your mom and got as much info about your dad from her as you could (age, maybe an old address or phone number, the city he was born in, etc.). Might be awkward, but if finding him is really important to you, you might want to consider it. I've never had the guts to ask my mom anything about my dad, which is probably why I'm still looking for him. Happy hunting, hope it all works out for you!

Are you sure he spells his name Jhonny and not Johnny?
There is a famous singer from the 1970's named Johnny Nash.
Did your mom say anything about his talents?
