I want to know what you think. My opinion is "Judge the deed, not the breed." Just like children- if you raise them right...they can be good kids. If you tell the dog its a good thing to be aggressive and mean, of course it will want to please you and do so. The aggressive Pit Bulls get a high off of attacking-its fun to them. The fortunate ones with proper socialization and training..get a high off of TLC. If you're afraid of a pit bull, you may want to reconsider your fears. Look into how many sex offenders live in your area. ;)

Its very true..."Judge the deed, not the breed." My friend does a pit rescue, thats their slogan. And having some bad areas around my home, i see plenty of pits that are mean, but I also am fortunate enough to see all the ones that are nice, or make turn arounds from being mean and scared to loving and loyal. People think pits are the enemy, but its really the people behind the dog. On the other end of the leash.

You can train ANY dog to be mean and aggressive. Even those precious little yorkies..

Pit Bulls gained a foul acceptance through fact the breed substitute into initially breed as a combating breed. this suggests that the dogs that have been the main vicious in the combat have been those that have been bred. And besides the reality that in the time of greater moderen cases this has generally get replaced with dogs that look the main like the breed generally used, they do nonetheless have an inclination in direction of aggression incredibly in direction of different dogs. Pit Bulls look greater especially in contact in aggression through fact it incredibly is generally greater suggested by the media. If a Pit Bull bites somebody, they are going to be in the newspaper the subsequent day, yet while a dogs much less prevalent for its aggression, ay a super dane, a generally very docile dogs, bites somebody it incredibly is not at risk of be a information tale. So Pit Bulls are generally outlawed, through fact the have a historic previous of being bred for aggression and that they are over emphazied by the media and a super form of poorly awareness human beings. besides the reality which you do could be very cautious while raising and possessing Pit Bulls in the event that they have the right socializations, with the two different dogs and human beings, they are able to be merely as risk-free as the different dogs. in spite of the undeniable fact that it can be a sturdy concept to continually shop an eye fixed out for any indications of aggression, and make beneficial that the dogs would not have a linage that substitute into greater at present bred for aggression.

Keep track how many deeds are done and see what breed is doing the most of it. Even just keep track of the ones on this site and then you will see the correlation of deeds and breeds. I really get sick of hearing how it's only the owners fault. Why do you think they are banned in some towns? Because the Labs are doing the killling, no, because the pits are.I saw the one that got me raised from a newborn.I know how it was raised and it was very loving to me on a daily basis for 5 years and then attacked me when I put my hand on the door knob to leave. They are unpredictable and they prove it themselves with every attack. I don't know where the person lives who never hears of any attacks but there are usually 3 a day on here.

Any dog can be mean and agressive, depending on the dog and what kind of life it's had. But I also feel that it depends somewhat on the breed and your living situation. Some breeds are bred for protecting and guarding, therefore that breed would not be a good breed to have around small children or if you have a lot of company that the dog doesn't know. Then the dog should be removed from the situation so nothing bad happens. You should always use discretion when your animals and other people are involved, to make the situation as stress free as possbile. I do agree though that any dog that has been shown nothing but love and kindness and discipline (not abuse) would be a great companion.

I agree with judge the deed not the breed. You really have to! All this self rightous people who say, "just look at the news!" and claim how bad pit bulls are, probably couldn't identify the dang dog! Here is a website that shows different types of dogs that get mis-identified as pit bulls! Ignorance is what causes the reputation. It is a shame!

Go to that site and see if you can id the pit! (I couldn't!)

I dislike pits for several reasons. First off, they were BRED to be aggressive and very strong for DOG FIGHTING. That is fact. They have the highest rate of sending people and other smaller pets to the hospital by far. They are usually the dog of choice by the lowest element of our society. Basically criminals, twaekars and gangsta scum. Insurance companies wont insure your house if you have a pit bull. Buying a house is hard enough, why make it impossible? Fourthly, I read cases of pit bull attacks weekly in the news. They frequently turn on their own family memebers for unknown reasons. Something can trigger them to snap and you or your kid are a goner. With 2000 breeds of dogs to choose from it is extremely foolish to buy a pit bull! And if you have one KEEP IT ON A LEASH AT ALL TIMES IN THE PARK! My dogs were attaqcked by one 6 months ago. That is the main reason I dislike and distrust them. They should be banned like England has done.

Neither pit bulls nor sex offenders lol. Sorry.
Do people want to show them off? Well, I actually have a dog to be happy with him.

I found this on Wiki:
Pit bulls today still retain the predisposition toward dog aggression; however, a properly trained and socialized pit bull can be taught to manage this aggression

I don't have a problem with them. I'd own one. Any breed can be mean if you train it to be. Pit bulls have that reputation that they are just all bad. I'm sure that some of them are nasty, but that doesnt go for all of them. I knew someone that owned one and the dog was actually afraid of people. I dont believe that all Pit Bulls are bad.

As a pit bull owner myself, I can tell you that people will find them "guilty" whether they have done something or not. People will take a secluded case from the news and apply it to EVERY pit bull they see. It's pretty unfair for responsible pit bull owners like me to be thrown into the SAME barrel as bad apples. People are just plain illiterate and uneducated on the breed. Their ignorance causes them fear. Pit bulls are the only breed being singled-out by the media, and then exaggerated and sensationalized to the point that it causes mass hysteria about them. If the news reported every dog attack story that involved black labradors, then people would be hysterical over labradors. People are under the impression that only pit bulls are dangerous because the news only reports pit bulls. If all pit bulls were as "dangerous" as the news portrays, then there'd be at least 1,000 pit bull attacks EVERYDAY across america making the news. You barely even hear of one happening a year. It's a pretty sad and ignorant predicament for the dogs, and for owners like myself.

The breed isnt for anyone. Regardless of what anyone says they are more aggressive than most. Look at their history, they were originally bred to fight. Thats why they seem to enjoy attacking stuff. But I also agree that with proper training they can be a very good pet. Its the young kids that own one that give em the bad rep. THEY ARE NOT STATUS SYMBOLS. A dog cant make you any tougher. I have alot of kids like that around my neighborhood.
