I have a beer, maybe two only when going out with friends and probably shouldn't. Topamax makes beer taste flat and gross, especially the first month or two. You wouldn't want to drink more than a beer or two. When I first took topamax, I often would leave my beer untouched and my friends would ask what was wrong. Topamax is sometimes prescribed to alcolohics to stop drinking. The only thing you can really drink on topamax is iced tea or water. Pop taste salty.

Topamax can be a highly dangerous drug all on it's own. Chances are if you were prescribed it you either have a seizure disorder, bipolar or migraines. Either way you shouldn't be drinking because alcohol can lower the seizure threshold, affect your moods and increase your chances for migraines. It's crazy that you are drinking or have drunk while using Ambien, Paxil and Wellbutrin. Wellbutrin can actually cause you to have seizures if you are prone to them and drinking adds to the risk.

Stay away from alcohol. Topamax has it's own side effects that you may or may not experience. I would like you to check out crazymeds.com. It gives you alot of honest information about Topamax. I have been on it and it was a nightmare for me....

Be careful...

Are you kidding me? You drank on those medications when you aren't supposed to?

You can't drink on Ambien, Paxil, Wellbutrin and MOST medications out there.

If you are having a problem with the thought of not being able to drink, then you have bigger problems. Your anxiety and depression has probably been CAUSED by your alcoholism. Yes, you are an alcoholic if you can't NOT drink when you are told not to.
