CHEF BOB- No I wouldnt. If there is a God who will damn his children forever, I would rather go to hell than to go to heaven and be around a tyrant.I despise that doctrine, I dont believe in it and quite frankly neither do you.If you did, I dont think you would be able to sleep. I think any person that believes that b.s. that has a GOOD heart will go insane.
CNM- You are wrong. Whether or not the bible is missing a lot of books is up for debate that i really dont care to get into. However It is widely known..if you pay attention and not follow everything blindly that with each interpretation of the bible.Words have been taken away and added in.....words that change the entire context of the scripture.

The Bible would be a short book then. And there is no redemption.
The Holy Bible is special because people haven't taken away from the Word of God. All the prophecies of the Coming Messiah is throughout the Old Testament & the New Testament fulfilled those prophecies.
It wouldn't be the Word of God anymore, because taking away from Gods Word changes Gods message and can make it untrue. Whosoever adds or takes away from Gods Word will be found out to be a liar.

The Bible doesn't uphold slavery. It was part of the culture in Biblical times, so the Bible speaks of it, but there was no endorsement of it. Old Testament Kings had more than one wife. The New Testament pattern is different. There was only one "war of extermination" in the Old Testament era, and it was directed by God for reasons that are outlined in the passages that talk about it. The Bible IS the Word of God from Genesis to Revelation.

It has to be. If you took a Bible, ripped out all of the pages, and blacked out all of the lines with the exception of what you mentioned, it's still the word of God. Is it not? Just because it's not in the whole doesn't mean that it changes what it is. People quote the Bible all the time without quoting the entire book. Same difference.

Can I pretend to answer your question? Well if you are taking away any part of the Bible it is not the Word of God anymore. Some parts of the Bible are just describing events that happened. Just because it's in the Bible doesn't mean God condones it. Do some research about the year of Jubilee.
Rev 22:19 And if any one of you takes words away from this scroll of prophecy, God will take away from you your share in the tree of life and in the Holy City, which are described in this scroll

I don't know about slavery, but I know that there are no passages upholding polygamy. Just because somebody in the bible has more than one wife (solomon, for example) doesn't mean it is permissable by God. The instructions in the book of Genesis speciffically say "a wife" . God allows free will

No, if the Bible was only about slavery, polygamy, and war of extermination, christians wouldn't even be in existence because nothing would be about Jesus who is the way to salvation... so there wouldn't even be christians to claim the Bible as the word of God. What's the point of this question exactly?

Some may some may not many do worship books with such instruction from a higher source, in the end logic and common sense would have to come into play!

Your question supposes that God, His Word (the Bible) and Christianity can be compared to a religion like islam... what is your point... that you hate Christians?
Since there are passages that speak AGAINST slavery, polygamy and war... your message seems to filled with a certain special kind of hate that is very unfortunate... I'll take some time to pray that God through His Son Jesus, reveals Himself to you in a meaningful way.

The word of God is more than the Bible. Jesus is the word of God. Through the work of the Holy Spirit, pastors proclaim the word of God in their sermons, etc. The word of God proclaims that which is good, so the word of God cannot consist solely of passages that tear down and demean (or demonize).

Well since God created the entire universe is not every part of it his word? If one accepts the notion that God created good then did he not create evil with the same gesture? Being a Christian I believe the most important part of that is accepting the love of christ into your life. The rest is window dressing as far as I care.
