Negative atheists (yes, there are good ones).

Every cynical and critical post or comment of theirs helps strenghten my faith.

Well, if it is a matter of my personal faith, I truly would have to say that God Himself has influenced me the most. Why? Because I have been through so many trials where I thought He had let me down. I tried trusting Him and I never let my faith waver. God is faithful. He has helped to see me through every single situation that has been difficult for me as long as I practiced integrity in how I handled that situation.

As for a PERSON who has influenced my spirituality the most, I would have to say Pastor Al, a former pastor of mine. I was hurt very badly by people in my church who claimed to be Christians. These people were not acting in pure Christian love. Pastor Al was the pastor of a different church in town and I sent him an e-mail, telling him about the things I was going through. I was seeking a different church home and I had heard that his was a good church. His e-mail reply to me was so kind, understanding and compassionate, that I began to attend his church. This man lives a godly, humble and upright life and his sermons are direct from the Word of God. This man truly practices Christian love and walks the walk - he does not just talk the talk.

A high school boyfriend broke up with me because I wasn't Christian and he was. We were really good together and it was very hard for him to do. It got me thinking about Christianity, like how could someone make a decision like that? That was the first time I ever seriously wanted to know about God. About 7 months later, I accepted Jesus. 8 months after that got back together with that boyfriend. We're now married. And even now, he keeps me on track and helps me through crises and everything.

Dr. Martin Luther King. He was a true man of God. We should by all means try to be like this humble man who had a dream but was faced with obstacles, pain and persecution but still persevered through it. Even though he wasnt able to see the fruits of his work the impact he had was so strong that even now when I hear his famous "I have a dream" speech it give me the chills. I heard from someone that he used to pray hours and hours on bed of rocks to show God how genuine he was. To me he is our modern day Apostle Paul.

I am not sure if you mean in life or in the Bible, so Ill answer both. In life many people have influences me, but mainly my father. He was a youth pasture when I was younger. In the Bible it would be Jesus because He was and is the only perfect person and was tempted with everything that I am tempted with, yet He never gave in.

My priest, Dan. He's really funny and had some tough times, but eventually came around to the idea of religion and became a priest. Second would have to be my youth group leader who doubles as a buddhist and has us meditate on the ground during class.

Pastor Erwin McManus http://erwinmcmanus.com/
He wrote a book called The Barbarian Way. It changed the way I look at Jesus and my Christian walk. I no longer see it as a safe place where Jesus is my flower painter. In fact, it's more like being on the front line and Jesus is my commander. He sends me into battle everyday with His strength, His wisdom, His following.

My Grandmother and she doesn't even know it.
She saw heaven before she died. She described the proverbial garden then started waving to people and calling their names, all 'dead'.
And I read in a bible after she died where she wrote, "children (written to her kids) it's a scary thing to fall into the hands of an angry God"
This had impact on me as an adult. I became a Christian in my 20's.
