Since the introduction of Christianity, millions of innocent men, women and children have been murdered, burnt, tortured, maimed, fined, descriminated against, hated, scorned and imprisoned, yet we have not advanced one inch toward uniformity. All done in the name of God.
Is this the same God who commanded, "Thou shalt not take my name in vain," the God who struck down the tower of Babel, and with his own hands parted the Red Sea and brought destruction, plague, and death to those who held his children captive in Egypt. Yet stood by as millions of Jews were slaughtered under Hitler's reign. Where is his vengence when so many have used His name to justify such attrocities?
Cannot the human race be good without God or the Bible? I say we can be good and we can be just. Christians are hippocrits that cannot even agree with themselves about how they should worship, when they should worship, or even how strictly the Bible should be followed, creating so many divisions of different denominations among themselves how can they ever expect to bring peace to the world. Pope Paul II even admitted, "Religious fundamentalism is our greatest threat to world peace. Fundamentalism breeds totalitarianism and intolerance."
I say faith is something we should have in ourselves and our fellow man. I say goodness comes straight from the heart and that God is only the goodness that we share between one another. God is the human heart. If we only follow and teach our children to follow the basic Laws of Humanity, the world would have the peace we so desperately seek. Peace on Earth.
