I used to get strep throat all the time. The things i found easy to eat were soups, yogurts, cottage cheese, pudding, basically anything soft. The cold helps to. If you have been to the doc. it will only take about 24 hours for it to feel better. So dont worry. If you havent seen the doc go and get some antibiotics. Hope ya feel better.

The obvious would be things that are more liquid based...soups, and drinks.

I'd try drinking a hot toddy(sp?)

8 oz Hot water
1 oz brandy
Cinnamon stick
2 tablespoons honey
1/4 lemon wedge

Mix the brandy, hot water, honey together in a mug. Squeeze the lemon into the drink, and stir with the cinnamon stick.

Hopefully that'll help with the sore throat..and will help you get a little sleep :)

Hope you feel better soon!

Meals are difficult if you can't swallow things, so you might have to eat a few different non-meal things (like yogurt, applesauce, a milkshake, etc.). You might try some soup (without chunks). I like to heat up some vegetable broth and stir in an egg (just be sure to beat the egg first, as if you are going to make scrambled eggs).

Soups and other hot food are soothing and easy to swallow. Before you eat dairy products, be sure it's compatible with your mediction. That being said, strep is serious medical condition. Be sure to finish your antibiotics or you can have a relapse. There are some tough strains out there.

I know exactly what you are going thru. I used to get strep so bad I couldn't eat for 3 days!
Avoid Tomatoes & oranges! These will burn your throat and make it hurt worse!
Try:
Mashed potatoes
Warm milk
Jello
Ice Cream

Nice Throat Lousenges or Cepacal throat lousenges

JELLO

I had a strickt jello and ice cream diet.

Anything that is soft, mashes potatoes, ice cream yogurt...
Sorry for your soar throat, I had a strep throat problem a couple years back

Feel better sweetie.

3 layer whipped jello is the best, it's hard to find but it's GOOD

Just because he has never vomited before while drinking milk with a fever, doesn't mean he won't.It's just not a good choice when you have a fever and feeling ill. jello, soup, pureed food, mashed fruit, homemade popsicles (100% fruit)
