it is a jewish tradition, since jewish people tradicionally do not leave flowers on headstones, stones are a way of showing respect and love

It's a jewish tradition. The same reason people leave flowers. To mark their visit, and symbolically let the deceased know that they're still remembered.

I believe thats a jewish tradition.

They did it at a jewish funeral I went to, once.

They have stone laying ceremonies. I think it just means to show your respect but you'll have to look it up, its called a 'stone laying'

Flowers were hard to come by so a rock to show you were there and you were thinking of them. Mostly a Jewish thing.
